AtomicHotdog
Not to much has changed, planted some more Dwarf Sag, and most of the plants seem to be doing well except for one of the Crypts that disintegrated I need to get some GBA's or something to start cleaning the rock at the back, it's starting to really show the algae

Caryl
It looks great! Personally I would lose the Buddha but that is a personal opinion (I hate anything like that in a tank). I love that colour angel and the background looks cool. It will be interesting to see how it looks after algae has settled on it. It will have a great aged feel to it by then. I do hope that ancistrus is sucking on a bottom feeder pellet. I would hate to think he had sucked up that area of gravel

Morcs
Nice. My pair of angels is almost identical - a stripy and a gold pearlscale. Looking forward to how their babies look :bounce: Lose the buddha though! change for a nice piece of driftwood
Dave+Amy
I like the Budha thing! it makes the tank look more tranquill - besides everyone's got driftwood at least this one is original
AtomicHotdog
Thanks for the feedback everyone. No eggs yet, though lots of mating type shenanigans goes on most nights. (dinner + movies + shimmering + surface cleaning, though no "come inside for coffee" yet) I'm still undecided about the Buddha. My original play was for the plants to grow quite thickly around it so it isn't so prominent - but it's getting pretty green with algae in the various crevices so I might scrap it. I'll keep posting updates in this thread though.
phoenix44
Those platies are so awesome, I think im going to get a few for a small tank i have lying around  what's the pH in the tank? oh and did you manage to source some hygrophilia polysperma and indian fern? Alienara
Mate i remember u wanting to do a sunken temple kinda look. ever considered putting the buddha at an angle instead of having it sitting straight? would probably work with the sunken temple look more, a lil more stones and a piece of driftwood would be nice i reckon. Southerrrngirrl
I agree with Caryl on the buddha, driftwood would look much nicer. Is it a plastic type thing with a hole in the bottom?? Because once I had similar ornament (roman columns I think) in one of my tanks years ago. It was about the same colour as the buddha and had a hole in the bottom of it. Soon it got really manky looking all covered in algae, so I took it out to clean it and as I took it out of the water, it the water which had gone in the hole in the bottom dribbled out and it was dirty and stagnant and I think it had some sort of worms in it?? And the smell! Urgh. That thing got turfed. Had drift wood ever since. Love the background though! Looks awesome. Edit: Just thinking, you could create some sort of stone sculpture as a central feature which would look nice.
AtomicHotdog
It's solid stone. But still the algae on it doesn't do it any favors.
Dave+Amy
would look cool if you attached some moss on it..for an old ruins look suggested before by someone
JarrenB
I think the buddha is cool, lots of tanks have driftwood but how many have a buddha?
