Comes i a couple of forms.

Most common two are in saline solution 500mg in 100 ml and second is 400 mg tablets

Usually easist to source in these two styles.

remember to turn of carbon and uv style filters and some people recommend increasing temp and aeration as this speeds up lifecycle of flagilates so exposes more to drug.

You may need to repeat treatments to make sure that all flagylates are exposed to drug

Good advice but every Vet I phone says he is not qualified to diagnose or prescribe for fish- that is if I can get past the receptionist. One even told me he might be able to help if I could bring the fish in next Tuesday, well he'll probably be dead by then or if not the trip halfway across Auckland will certainly kill him.

Does anyone know a sympathetic Vet in Auckland?

Thanks Chris

Good luck Chris

With the NZVA tightening their rules no vet is "supposed" to precribe for an animal without a consult in the last 3-6 mths.

This makes it hard to get an ongoing supply of some of these meds.

Hope it goes well for your flat fish

Took me a good month to get hold of some Metro.

I finally have a good supply now so if anyone is up poo creek without a paddle PM me I might be able to help you out.

Ended up getting 100 Tablets, but the Expiry Date on them is 2010, not sure I'm going to use all of them before 2010, would rather not see them go to waste, after all the hassle I had to go through to get them.

Do not worry about the expiry date on pills. It is there to help us work out which stock is oldest so the product is rotated in the correct order. Pills are a very stable form and these can be used when past their use by date. Liquids are a different matter!
