I picked up 3m + 2f as per the rainbowfish book and have them in quaranteen in a tank with guppies at the moment. I was wondering if anyone had bred them before and had some tips/tricks to share? malawiman Posted August 28, 2008 Report Share Posted August 28, 2008 The hardest part is getting the fry past the critical couple of weeks after free swimming. They are one of the hardest rainbows to grow on. Even the orher ones like Boesmani is hard, but if you have enough time and heaps of greenwater you should be good. I have some blackwater spieces that I would like to breed in the new year and would like to get tanks sorted first for fry, which are also very small and hard to feed/ slow growing.
