firefish
I've got a 50l tank that needs a midwater type of fish. (or something else) In it at the moment is 1 blue ram (won't be getting more of them) and some baby gbas. On my list are: Platys Neons Dwarf gouramis Cherry barbs i'm sure there are other options out there that i haven't thought of yet... Any suggestions? bedazzled
Leopard danios are great to watch, very busy and cheeky. They play tag with eachother to pass the time lol
firefish
I used to have danios in a tank, but i got sick of them. I loved them when i first got them tho. I like long finned danios, they're on my list now
Guest
A school of neons and glowlights (they school together) for the middle and platys for the top. I'd have khulies for the bottom they're sooo cool. What about a fighter? they're colourful and hang around the middle to top are. Do you just want fish for the bottom or just ideas of what to put in the tank?
supasi
My favourite tetra is lemon tetras. Get a school of at least 6 and they look awesome once they settle in and colour up. Also , they are cheap
Guest
Yeah. Most tetras are cheap and look good in schools but I think everyone needs to have a fighter and a school of neons in their tank if they can
Fenriswolf
Yeah. Most tetras are cheap and look good in schools but I think everyone needs to have a fighter and a school of neons in their tank if they can Mmm... I just added 8 black neons to my 70 litre cube with my short-finned male betta and dwarf gourami and I'm really glad I went with the black neons rather than, um, neon neons? They are so cool and active! I'm probably going to have a wee school of glowlights too, even though I was originally going to just go for neons or cardinals, because apparently they school nicely with black neons. But yeah, I'm stocked with my wee black fellas, so that's my vote
Guest
I wonder if black neons, normal neons and glowlights would school together as that would look cool
Fenriswolf
Hmmm, that would be pretty awesome. I'm tempted to try but that'd be overload for my wee tank. It's possible I imagine, given that glowlights are supposed to school with either.
vindy500
I wonder if black neons, normal neons and glowlights would school together as that would look cool neons and glowlights do, black neons not so much
Fenriswolf
Really? Someone told me yesterday he'd seen some schooling together and it looked cool
Wok
Baby Jags would be impressive too. Watching them swim around an putting other fish in their mouths is hilarious.
firefish
I think i'm wanting to move the ram to another tank- he's lonely i think. Then i'm gonna move my glassbloodfins to the tank and buy 6 neons. Later on when i get more money i might get some glowlights. I've had bettas before and i find they don't swim around much. and i'm forever worrying that they're dead! I like the lemons, but i think they're not brite enough and they're seethrough like the glassbloodfins. I've got guppies in another tank, so i don't wanna over stock this one so i can put some of the guppy babies in this tank. So that probably cuts out the platy option.
