skaffen
A friend came round to try out her new DSLR high-snoot camera. She got some nice pics of my Butterflies, the BN Plec and Bruce the Bala. Thanks Hayley
Caryl
Hmmm time to upgrade the camera methinks!
skaffen
Yeah, I have a bad case of camera envy now :-? Hayley was shooting with a Canon EOS-450D That was all full auto with no tripod, I'd hate to think how good manual settings with a tripod would be
whetu
Beautiful pics! Hayley should hire herself out as a fish portrait photographer.
pookie_halo
Hey guys Hayley here, thanks so much for the comments! Simon the only reason they came out so well was because the fish behaved; notice I couldn't get any of the tiger barbs though, they move so fast. Out of 120 shots 5 isn't bad Whetu I'm available weekends and by special appointment
Virgil
Those are some terrific shots, tried taking some with our camera...crap basically!

skaffen
Nah, it's all in the fishkeeping !
pookie_halo
The fishkeeping is definitely a plus, I wouldn't want to be taking photos of sickly fish.
Cheesejawa
Your tank and fish are seriously amazing. And I mean that. My favourite shot is of the BN.
dwalk
skaffen, I can't find info on the "butterflies" what's their full name, are they a type of Ram???
Dixon1990
They are Mikrogeophagus altispinosus aka Bolivian Ram
dwalk
Thanks Dixon1990, I take it if i have more that one ram type in a tank I run the risk of cross breeding??? I've had the german blue ram in the past, but haven't actually seen the Bolivian ram b4, certainly nothing like in skaffen's cool pics! Dixon1990
They could breed, but they preder to breed with their own species, so if you have males and females of both species they shouldnt, but some people have trouble with bolivians bullying Blues/Golds
rollergirl
Yea my bolivian male killed my blue They get quite a bit bigger, and can be bullies, so just watch them if you do get a blue. Awesome fish though! And as for the pics- WOW they are stunning Well done, the tank looks amazing and fish are beautiful
