supasi
P.S Does anyone know the type of crypt on the right hand side (with red stems) of pics 3 and 4?
supasi
Some Peguin. Emperors or columbian Tetras would look good 8) Yeah tetras are cool, but i have other tanks full of them and wanted something a bit different. Im a sucker for American fish and the only non american i have is a lone harliquin. Rainbows look cool, also thought maybe some hatchets but they can be a bit uninteresting at times, since all the do is hang at top looking for a gap to jump through, lol. The two WCMM in there will be going asap, they were just the canary in the mineshaft. what to do , what to do?

David R
No decent pics They're starting to look really good too! I'll have to have a look at that Darltons sand, I want a lighter coloured substrate like that but not as fine as silica sand.

supasi
Have found some new tankmates for them now. Picked up half dozen nannostomus beckfordi aka golden pencil (which oddly enough, are a feature fish in the latest TFH mag) Since adding them, the geo's seem a it more relaxed. will get some pics soon. supasi
Now for some updated pics The geos are comming along great, starting to show some great colouring(although pics dont do justice) and showing some personality. I have added two small angels to the tank and this seems to have added comfort to the geos as they are out and about more often now. First pic to show how much the plants have grown
Cheesejawa
Ohh cute geos. I wonder if they will still be when they are big?
supasi
Ohh cute geos. I wonder if they will still be when they are big? In my opinion they can only get better. As they are maturing, the red colouration is getting stronger(although it doesnt really sho in the pics) and the irridecent blue on their sides is getting brighter.Cant wait till the males start to show their fin extensions.
Afrikan
Very nice I agree, Surinamensis get even nicer with age, beautiful colouration and such an awesome looking fish They are looking just gorgeous supasi
Olly
would suris be ok in with angels and golden gouramis? Im thinking about 1 or a couple if they would be ok together
supasi
I have two small angels in with mine and they seem to be pretty happy, infact the suris seem more calmer with the angels. Suris are genrally bottom dwellers and do best in groups of four or more. They also require plenty of open ground with a fine substrate as as the name Geophagus suggests, they like to sift through the gravel looking for food. They have a tendancy to root around the base of my plants too, luckly the substrate is deep enough that the roots are weel rooted otherwise the plants would have a hard time. They are my second fav cichlid after discus.
