I need ideas please :)

I'm getting rid of my tetras, and the only schooling fish I'm going to have are going to be danios, I have one blue gourami who hides all the time, 1 Siamese Fighter and 2 clown loaches, 2 CAE, 2 peppered corys, 1 GBA and 1 rainbow shark..

But I'm after some fish that are colourful, active and will stay around the middle or the top of the tank. Don't really want any tetras.. But I'm open to suggestions!

Tank is around 160L - My parents are getting a tank for Christmas ( :) ) so I am going to be giving them my cories and possibly a CAE.

I was thinking about getting a few swordtails and another Gourami.

But I've heard that Gouramis can fight quite a lot?

And I've also heard though that as CAE's get bigger they can stick to the bigger, slower moving fish and suck their sides?? So I'm not sure if I want to subject an angel to that..

How about some cherry barbs? The males are a gorgeous glowing red, and the females are pretty too - oranger than the males, with dark stripes.

They are quick enough that they won't get bothered by the betta, and look lovely in a school.

People say that barbs can be nippy, but I've had a variety of gold, rosey and cherry barbs and never had a nipping problem.
