tinytawnykitten
We will be in Auckland in 10 days or so, just for 2 days, staying with friends. One friend lives in Onehunga, the other in Caster Bay. We are just deciding which friend to stay with on our last night before we drive back, and I want to have the opportunity to buy a fish or two from HFF or somewhere like it, to bring home, so whatever it is, if I buy something, I will obviously need to purchase it on the sunday morning we leave for Wellington. Caster Bay is near HFF Albany, Onehunga near HFF Mt Roskill. Are there any other great stores in Aucks? Which of the two HFF is better? VinsonMassif
HFF Roskill has more marine and is older. They have a large range of pretty much everything. HFF Albany is good for a look. I like their display tanks especially their fresh water with the big aro in it.

David R
Jansens Mt Eden is just up the road from HFF Mt Roskill as you're heading back towards the motorway.
firenzenz
Hff Albany is worth a look, but Mt Roskill does a have greater range of stock. Animates Nth shore( Porana Ave) isn't the best but is only 5 mins down the from Albany and close to Castor Bay Animates Mt eden (mt Eden Rd) is only a couple minutes from HFF Mt Roskill (Cnr Frost and Carr Rd),so you could do both those easily on the trip to airport. If you are thinking of buying fish from Origin's make sure you inspect the fish thoroughly to make sure it appears healthy.
Silvia-15
you get what you pay for however id have a slightly ragged fish thats half the price. i mean if you care for it properly, it only takes a week for it to be healthy again... tinytawnykitten
Whatever I buy, if any, will be in for a 8 hour drive back to Wellington so fish which are under the weather probably won't be worth it.
Barrie
I will give you a couple of heat pads just in case if you want
DutchKiwiCowboy2
If you haven't found anything you want to spend your money on by the time you leave go by the Animal Shack in Pukekohe (Edinborough st), or stop in on your way through so you know what you can fall back on. Wok
Barrie, why would you want heat pads when a 1.5L coke is more fun. you get to drink the coke and then fill the bottle with hot water - instant heater
