livingart
Oh I See! It looks so still, I was surprised the anemones where staying open. sorry wasp thought you were talking about the big pool the small rockpool has part of the flow from the filter running through it the anenome live on the tideline and at full or lowtide they are open while the waves are smashhing them they close up have seen them regurgitate the shells of paddle crabs, they open up in the rockpools and wait for things to walk or swim into them, they open up to about the size of the palm of your hand

lmsmith
Those anemones are so beautiful! Where do you get them from? Do you just rock on up to the beach and take them? How do you get them off what they're sticking on? I have so many questions!!
livingart
getting anenomes can require some technique small ones are fairly easy, just lever off with thumbnail or a scraper the big dahlias are harder as they extend their foot into the substrate and latch onto a rock you need to get your finger under the foot to get them off if you puncture them they usually die i try a lot to get just one, if i can't get to the foot properly i give up some of the dahlia can extend to about 200mm across the disc we are open every day of the year jayci
