smidey
if i was wanting to do that i would contact furniture movers, they distribute our kitchens very well.
VinsonMassif
I have contacted most companies and they are not willing, or they are asking a large fortune. Perhaps you could email that dude from Tanks2U and ask if he ships nationally. Getting tanks across Auckland can cost $100.
kiwiplymouth
I used Conroy Removals. They were very good and charged me about $300 for a 360l tank plus stand from Auckland to Nelson. However it was new and in its original packaging.
Warren
I recently shipped a tank from Napier to Auckland with Mainfreight. The company I work for has found them to be the best for commercial... It cost about $360 to ship a crate 2.6m x 1.7m x 0.95m and weighed 800kg all packed. Smaller tanks would cost considerably less. I just packed it pretty well with a lot of padding (75mm thick of poly-bubble) and labeled it up as a glass aquarium - please don't break me. No carrier I talked to will insure a glass tank though. I did try Conroys but they were one of the most expensive and they eventually refused anyway as it was just too big.
alanmin4304
You could probably buy the glass for less then the freight and make it yourself in situ
reef
Can anyone reccomend someone that can take a 1200x450x800 tank from Auckland to CHCH? And why bother, there are tank makers in chch. might cost a little more but at least you dont have any risk with shipping.
Inside Oceans
Fliway, and they insure
Warren
Yeah Fliway are very good but do you need that arm and leg? They're also the most expensive by a factor of at least 2... You could easily buy two tanks the the freight cost.
Inside Oceans
From Chch to Auck costs around $75 for a 1200 x 450 x450. Not sure what the cost would be if it was the other way around? No where near the cost of Two tanks. And as i said they insure where most other companies don't.
Warren
You obviously get a much better deal than we do... We'd pay that from Napier to Palmy. Would hate to think what it would cost to Chch... However, it would be guaranteed to arrive safely.
Inside Oceans
Chch to Auckland is a pretty standard run for them i spose, to get the same tank to say Rotorua is over double. You can take a look here if you want, this is just the Fliway m2 rate worked out on some standard size tanks to a few places around NZ. http://www.insideoceans.co.nz/Links/frieght.jpg I sould also add this is without the fuel sercharge of about 5% i think at the moment. henward
honestly, its probably best to buy a new one unless the tank is big enough and that brand new its a fortune, its not worth shipping that far.
