My big carnivores get a mix of beef heart, shrimp and frozen discus tucker (which has greens, garlic, and other good stuff in it). I cut all the fat off it, and the membranes around the valves etc so really all they get is the inside meat. Its quite wasteful, but its so cheap it doesn't matter.

I have just started feeding my fish heart meat. They do love it and it is a really cheap and easy way to fill them up.

I am getting a little worried by these suggestions that it is a bad idea. I did cut off the fat, but it is interesting about them not being able to process it in cooler temperatures (my fish ought to be below 20 degrees).

If fish meat is better than mammalian why is that not suggested everywhere as a good food for fish??
