Guest Posted February 1, 2008 Report Share Posted February 1, 2008 Hi guys, I really want to breed a dwarf cichlid but I want to start off with one thats easy to breed and then try breed one thats harder to breed. Would you recemend kribs or something else? Is it better to breed them in pairs or trios? Roughly how many fry would you get from a pair? I have some that are crossed to rabbits going at the moment and you could expect 60-100 fry. Breeding them is easy it is selling them that is the challenge. Sometimes shops cut people deals :roll: As for a number of fry most people breed more kribs than they can house off one pair IMO your better off to stick with your gold ram's as they'll be easier to get rid of. Guest Posted February 2, 2008 Report Share Posted February 2, 2008 Hutt pets give everyone half of what their retail is so if you would've taken your 30 guppies in to them they would have given you $75 (I think thats right) and if the kribs have to many babies they can be put in the other tank as food. Caryl Posted February 2, 2008 Report Share Posted February 2, 2008 Just a bit bigger than the fishes. Doesn't have to be huge. Most fish prefer a tight fit (within reason). paul_r Posted February 2, 2008 Report Share Posted February 2, 2008 I just put my kribs in a 600x300x300 tank with gravel substrate and plants...there were a couple large rocks together and they burrowed into the gravel to make a cave, a week or so later baby kribs everywhere.
