  1. Hiya I do the filter every 3 weeks ish. But thank you I'm trying to muster some steam to do it today
  2. Just had a fiddle and it's all where it should be :o/ Will try the impellor cleaning next week
  3. Sorry for late reply on this post everyone! Thanks for the advice. I'll invest in a pipe cleaner brush and haven't been brave enough to pull out the impellor but will give that a go next week when i'm scheduled to do the filter again. I always take the pipes and flush water through them at great speed to get rid of chunks but nothing came out. Media: filter gravel, filter ceramic noodles, eheim sponge and filter wool. No air bubbles in pipes, have checked that one. Yes the filter is great. Tank is still spotless and happy, i just want to get the pressure back up so the water is cycling around properly.
  4. Hello, I have a Eheim filter (unsure of model, but it's a very big external "professional") that is not pushing out as much flow as it was a couple of months ago. I recently gave it a thorough clean out hoping that it was a blockage but it is still quite weak. The output used to blow the fish around but now it's almost a sad dribble. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you :smln:
  5. Okay thank you everyone, i'll keep this in mind, i appreciate your time. Cheers :happy1:
  6. Cool thank you for your opinions... The reason i say 300L (my rough guess)... is because it's really deep. It does look rather small and piddley in that picture but it actually a decent size. Not as big as i'd like for a tropical tank however! But big enough for goldies. The tank I had before this one i was told was 220L or there abouts and this one is much bigger... The glass is in pretty good nic.. Only a few minor scratches... I got it through a private swap. Okay, i'll see what I can compare it to and will bust out a tape measure closer to the time as well so i can get acurate measure :happy2:
  7. Thanks guys.. That's less than i was hoping haha! I think the cabinet is worth about $400 as it's huge, you can't really tell from the picture. That's good to know, cheers
  8. Hey all, Here is my tank which i am planning to sell soon... Does any one have any rough ideas about the total value? Approx 300L tank, brand new seals Eheim prof filter 2yrs old Massive heavy authentic indian wood cabinet Brand new pump & bendy air hose thing Stones, plants, marimo ball (plastic) 6 Goldfish All the food, chemicals, hoses and cleaning jazz I know it's hard to say an estimate but i thought someone on here might know a rough idea Thank you !
  9. Great thanks everyone.. I'll bear that in mind. Maybe i'll have them in but with a low temp so the plants grow fast and well but the fish don't get too excited. Cheers
  10. Hello, I'm just curious, what temperature is max for goldfish? I was to have a couple of tanks but would like goldfish in one, but still want to grow swords and ferns etc... Cheers!! :happy2:
  11. Hey i'll definately be super keen for some of the plants if you're selling... MSG me when you're ready
  12. Oh no!!! But so funny... would have been funny if there were kids in the pool :slfg: :slfg: :slfg:
  13. Haha i remember getting eels in the lounge purposefully when i was a kid to freak my poor mum out. :sml1:
  14. Hey all, Looking for some new white substrate sand Also looking for attractive flat stones Cheers
  15. Thanks guys I've got a couple of options now so we should be up n running in no time!!!
  16. Thanks Nymox that would be great. I go over there to the organic shop once a week so i could come over next week maybe?? If that would suit you?
  17. Yes you're probably right. They were put up 4 years ago so i'm not surprised... I just wish i had a picture of the tank to show off now! &c:ry
  18. Hey peoples, I'm just wondering if anyone knows why my pictures that i posted a few years ago are no longer on my pages? Or if anyone knows how i can get them back? Photobucket doesn't seem to believe i have an account with them so maybe that's the problem... Would love to hunt down a picture of my old tank to go by for setting up new one =( Cheers!
  19. That could be awesome! How would be get it to fit the tank? Do you cut it??
  20. Ahhh cool thanks everyone I hadn't seen the main tanks damage, but the top left hand corner of the front panel has come away... which of course caused the tank to drain! A 3am rude awakening! So i have got the tank now and i think just some silicone will do the job. There are no cracks in the glass itself, just the silicone needs doing. So do i just put the glue on thick and hold it there? Can i trust that the glue will hold it in place? It's a 200L tank. I have two other tanks, one 200L with the bottom panel which has a massive crack along the bottom, unsure if silicone will do the trick there. It's all in place but the crack goes from one end to the other, i would be a bit concerned filling it with water. The other tank just has a turtle bridge in it that needs to be removed... Do i take to it with a craft knife??!! :dunno: So excited to be setting up a tank again!!! You'll all be kept posted. :happy1: :happy1: :happy1:
  21. Hello!! Does anyone know who i can get to repair cracks in fish tank glass?? I have called about ten different glaziers and they're not interested at all and keep refering me to the other... :dunno: If you can help, that would be great!! ^^
  22. I just got told by the fulla at wet pets in Palmy that he's not meant to sell it as its banned. Its just the plan ol' fat thick leaved long leaved green stuff haha... Oh well not like it's gonna jump out of my tank and infest the rivers!! =)
  23. Oh, and btw... val is banned... I was just sneaky hahaha
  24. Haha funny stuff. Well if i asked an amount that i thought was fair for the amount of time, care, money and attention i've given it then it would be worth more than my soul  But i'm not really sure. I was lucky enough to get the tank itself for rather cheap and the rest i got brand spankin... In regards to selling it to someone who just wants it there to look pretty and "oooh and ahhhh" over it, then no thanks. I love my fish and i love the way i've watched it grow, so i am most definately not going to sell it to someone who doesn't have a good level of fishkeeping knowledge. Like the type that keep goldfish bowls... Ick I have 4 tanks at the moment and being 21 i'm finding the time to care for them slipping out of reach. Thanks everyone, you're awesome.
