HaNs
in addition to insects, bearded dragons should be fed a mixture of green leafy vegetables (e.g. dandelion greens, collard greens, chickory greens, mustard greens, turnip greens, escarole, parsley), other vegetables (e.g. squash, carrots, green beans, peas, bell peppers), and some fruits (e.g. berries, apples, grapes, cantaloupe, papaya, mango, blueberries, bananas). The plant portion of the diet should be about 20-30% of the diet. These items can be chopped up and mixed together to make a salad, which can be fed in a shallow bowl. Leafy greens can also be clipped to the side of the cage.

Varanophile
what vegies are good for beardys? puha(sp?) and dandelion vegetation and flowers are perfect and free. frozen peas and beans defrosted also good. strawberries and other fruit with the exception of avocado and citrus can also be fed. but free is best
Varanophile
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanide spinach is high in oxalates which can affect metabolism of calcium and hence bone growth if fed exclusively. if you feed it occasionally then no worries. they are pretty much like us in that all things are fine in moderation. terrence
That nutrition chart is a keeper alright... What a bonus that dandelion greens are rich in nutritional value! They grow like, well, like weeds If you've got a corner of your property to devote to them, it might be worth sowing a bed of dandelions to help add to the diet - they mustn't need much convincing to run riot... Adam
Alfalfa is another excellent staple and easy to grow for yourself. I'll be giving it a try soon
Varanophile
watercress is good too, esp. as it can be used in biofilter sumps- just add a tube- to remove nitrates from fish tanks....
