Caryl
The weather is warming and the fish have started to cruise with the beginnings of spawning behaviour and hang about in the sun. This lady is becoming popular I thought I would have nice big green leaves on my lilies but they are small and brown. I assume it is the type of lily, rather than a lack of something in the water. See, I told you she was getting popular

Caryl
One of the advantages to being older and owning your own home - I can build what I want. It is a tranquil pond, must start the waterfall going.

Ira
I need to get to work on my pond. I need to hack some trees and shrubs out to clear a space to move my succulent garden because the pond is going to replace them. Then I'll figure out how the hell I'm going to build the pond. jn
Did you have your water lilies last season? Mine start off with small dark leaves but they do grow in more and turn pretty green as they mature

Whiskas
ashbo - i have a pond (no where near as cool as Caryls!) and use bird netting over the top to stop my cat and all the other neighbourhood cats getting into it. The neighbour has no cover over the pond just lots of plants for the fish to hide in and around, although she has noticed that she only has brown goldies left now. Give it a go its heaps of fun and you dont even need to dig it out if you already have an empty one sitting there just waiting to be filled! Caryl
We get quite a few local cats drinking out of it but have yet to see one aiming for, or taking any notice of, the fish.
