Gatito
If it's a clown loach, be prepared to get a bigger tank for him as he grows 8) And he would be 2000% happier if you got him some friends

I can't see any pics either.

Freakyfish
It is a Distichodus sexfasciatus http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/p ... cle_id=253 I have found them to fairly placid though I had one about 12 " and he was fine for me but was very aggressive to my mates Aro's and lungfish Brad

Alan
Not only that, but they are a schooling fish and can grow to 76cm. Looks like another of those fish that shouldn't be permited in the aquarium trade. Hope you have plans for a BIG tank. And with those fish getting chewed up, maybe they'll be acute now.
philosophy king
thanks for all your advise people. emm....troublesome indeed, looks like i must get rid of him now....
fishy_t
I'm pretty sure he's a Distichodus sexfasciatus Very nice fish but he sounds like he's a bit of a hand full! Grows up to 30cm in captivity according to PFK; http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/show_article.php?article_id=253 He come's from Lake Tanganyika, so as many cichlid people will know, he has to be pretty tough to fend of the bossy fish he lives with in the wild! Hope that helps
firenzenz
Hi Yes unfortunately thre Sixbar distochodus looks great as a juvinile in the LFS. It will grow to a huge size as well as loose all it colouring and turn a dark brown. As a schooling fish it is out of sorts by himself, so the seeming aggression is really nervous reaction of being alone. Lovely looking fish in the shop but hard to keep. Actually comes from river systems in the Congo basin. You can keep a couple or so with a few silver distochodus but hard going. Last bu tnot least is that it will destroy most plants.
fishy_t
come from lake tang. too - and river systems all over central africa...
Afrikan
Yeap fishy_t is right... they are found in both Tanganyika and Congo River Little Devils must make themselves well known around the place
