markoshark
Further discussion about what fish i'm wanting to go in here. (tank will be planted with dark substrate & wood) 1x Male Siamese Fighter 2x Female Siamese Fighter 4x Blue Ram 6x Gouramis (Probably Pearl) 2x Bristlenoses 1x Black Ghost Knife 3x Silver Shark 4x Boesemani Rainbow Possibly overstocked? The tank came with 1x marine blue light, Should i purchase a normal white one and replace it?

HummingBird
Definitely, if only because of the silver sharks. Those things get huge!

Afrikan
And just to add to what the others have said.... Bosemani rainbows can at times have a real pain in the butt habit of annoying other fish... and I am just imagining now how much of a pain they COULD end up being to your fighters... markoshark
hum, remove the sharks then, and trim some of the other fish a bit. Any ideas on turning a marine tank into freshwater?
Adrienne
What exactly are you wanting to change about the tank or are you just talking about cleaning up the tank to get rid of the salt water residue etc? Does it have sump holes that you want plugged?
markoshark
Clean it up to get rid of the salt. No sump holes.
markoshark
1x Male Siamese Fighter 2x Female Siamese Fighter 6x Gouramis (Probably Pearl) 2x Bristlenoses 1x Black Ghost Knife 3x Silver Shark Slightly better? Incidently are there any schooling fish, that are only slightly bigger than tetras that won't nip the Siamese fighters?
snookie
try congo tetras ,
Adrienne
I would tend to wash it out with water really well and just use a decent sort of cloth or even a non scratch scourer to rub down the glass. Then rinse and leave out in the sun (if we have any) to dry. You will soon see if you've got rid of it all.

markoshark
One last question - What depth of gravel should be in a planted tank?
GZ_Loach
approx 6-10cm
dimebag
i would go with an inch of aquatic mix, then an inch of washed sand, possibly a bit more. your plants will do much better with this than just straight gravel.
