meesheelly
Well i have some killis in my community tank a while ago i thought i would stick a mop ijn coz a couple of the girls looked fat. I wasnt really expecting anything but today i checked the mop and i have 20 or so eggs. Only prob is that i dont know which pair they came from. I think the parents are most likely my dageti or my notho yellows coz they have been hanging around the mop. So the question is what do i do now? caserole
They wont be your notho's as they don't have sticky or hooks to catch the mop not to mention there substate spawner not mop spawners  they may be Epiplatus dageti there eggs are small. What other species do you have this may help ID the eggs.
meesheelly
I also have gold gardeneri, gold australae.
caserole
Well that could be a little problematic or IDing them. Well there not Notho's Epiplatus ( i think thats spelt wrong ) have very small eggs Fundulpanchax gardneri gold's eggs are around 1/2 a mm in diameter Aphyosemion australe eggs are in between the 2 The notho's may have been trying to get a free lunch The gardneri and australe are switch spawners - that is they are just as happy to spawn in mops as the gravel - sometimes it's easyer for the male on the gravel when he presses her. There probably E. dageti do the eggs look really small??
meesheelly
well i could see them so they wernt that small, maybe a mil in diameter?
caserole
Hi A mm,umm you don't have killies that product that size eggs if they are killi eggs. have you tryed picking 1 up, if there killi eggs they will be hard and will not pop unless already dead. If you think there that big and are killi eggs then they must be gardneri eggs. Are you able to take a pic with the egg in a ruler??

meesheelly
On another note. I was just having a look in my breeding tank, which has a hole lot of fighter babies in it and i noticed one that was different. It was larger a different shape and had stripes. It looks like a dageti fry? I had tried the dageti in there but i swaped them out in a few days coz my fighters were breeding in the community tank. Could i have a dageti baby in there? Or is it a mutant fighter?
alanmin4304
Sounds like a mutant ninja dageti
AquaNut
I bet you they are degati. Throw the whole mop into a small seperate tank with an airstone and leave it for 10+ days. Every day lift the mops up and give them a little shake at the same time. You will see the degati fry easily. Cheers Aquanut
