  1. Thanks Stella, that is interesting. How would they end up in a person's aquarium though? Did I miss something as to "where" they come from? Caper

  10. Sorry that your fishy didn't make it bedazzled, at least you did everything you could to try and help her. Caryl wrote: Yup, you are right Caryl   And the question is, what is kumara?? Plus you must know by now it doesn't take much to confuse me at the best of times even "non kiwis" things    Caper
  11. Oh gosh, can't believe I'm going to ask this but here goes...why are you referring to the poo as stringy? How should it look? Hope all goes well real soon, he is a beautiful fish. But the fish just below him also looks like he has clamped fins? Or just a temporary clamping, just as you took pic? Oh and what is a flameback, he is a cichlid isn't he? If so, is that what he is called a flameback cichlid??? Caper
  12. So are they, I can't find anything on the net that says they are. As I have said before, since I've moved them downstairs in my apartment I'm obviously spending much more time watching them. No matter where there tank is/was, the morning feed was always mad rush. But the evening they didn't seem to make such an effort, used to think that maybe they weren't hungry. Then yesterday, it was still fairly bright outside so I didn't turn on the tank lights to feed them and zoom up they came! Also, as soon as I turn off the tank light in the evening, they immediately all go up. So what do you wise fishy people think? Also, my light will flicker lately when I first turn it on, so I'm thinking it maybe time for a new one. If this is the case, would a light that is not working properly have any effect on the fish? 13. True BlueandKim, expcept for my cory's they hide...lol. But I would have thought that noise would be an entirely different situation. But then I guess in a tank his size and so many places to hide, would make a difference. Thanks, Caper
  14. Does anyone have a pic of this? I've googled and so far am getting some kind of mythical creature. Caper
