  1. Hey guy's any of you ask if you could take a pic of the zebra pleco's - - add them to the maf file?
  2. 4 years ago I saw a large tank with at least 50 ass colours of adult male betta , they came screaming to the front of the tank as you walked up to it 8) BUT I am coming to the opinion that males develop there finage faster/ younger if keep by them selves , food for thought ?
  3. Jody , you may have to set up a picture tank- one that is use solely for taking pick of fish. this is what I'm doing as it is hard to get a steady shot other wise. ModernAngl , contact CatBrat and get him to send a file of the pic's I was unable to verify.
  4. Klaymann, what I didn't say was I have another pair ( but mum eats her eggs ). the male in that pair is the father of Shae's male.

  10. yes I know time is short Rob , i've just got a camera and i'm taking pic's like crazy . have talked to Alan about contacting Kelly I also have some b/n species that are not properly id, so will need help with them.
  11. yes I have a copy. I also have 1 very old Corydoras julii male, THE REAL JULII Rob, with out me looking them up are any of your whiptails the red w/tail?
  12. Hi PENEJANE, General rule of thumb when moving fry is same tank water and temp , Blue&Kim are right that b/n are extra sensitive, but it can be done if you follow rule of thumb I gave a good number of very young b/n aways to a friend that lives in the same city as I AND we run simler water systems = same water conditions. He hadn't lost any last time week talked , so it can be done

    Fish Food

As to the % of fat in white worms and beef heart that I mentioned , they were the result of an analist ( sorry can't spell ) done by a research centre close to were I live, it was done for free so no report was written. What I didn't say was the amount of fat in beef heart can change dew to all sorts of reasons but the magotity of the fat IS STILL saturated animal fat . and the amount of fat in white worms would change too, BUT unlike beef heart worms have a high % of amino acids in them ( fatty acids you know omiga3 and alike ) they still show up as fats when analised thou. take it or leave it, poke fun at my spell , what ever you like, have a good day

yes there was a studie done on feeding beef heart to guppys, but I have only herd about it not read , so don't know were to find it.
  15. Thanks guys on your complaments. Here's mum with a better look of the kids http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y187/sjoestedi/Apistogramma%20cacatuoides/RIMG0146.jpg
  16. Well for thou's out there REALLY wanting some of these this is the second spawning of this pair . the first spawn is ticking along fine ( no pic as tank just got a scrub ), the fry are now little fish between 3 and 5mm long. Both the male and female were breed by me but the ( unfortunatly ) male now belongs to Shae, I'm just looking after him for a while If your not to sure there cockatoo dwarf Apistogramma orange flash colour form Just under the pair is little orange dots  there the fry . Oh by the way I just bought this camera yesterday and am still trying to figer out how to work it. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y187/sjoestedi/Apistogramma%20cacatuoides/Cockatoodwuafchiclid.jpg
  17. Well i've never breed betta's , but that does not mean I don't know anything first of all it would be handy to know all that you did, like tank size , hiding place for female , temp that sort of thing. a close up pic of the females vent would be good too = was she really in correct condition to breed a pic will show this even thou she's bet up. but this can happen with betta's, even if the female full and ripe. I don't think putting her back with the male is a good idea just yet- unless your prepeared to loss her.

Why does it cause bloat ? blood worms are a natural sorce of food for them.they hatch in such large numbers over the african lakes they form clouds that can be seen from km's away.

:-? if fat is bad for your fish would you feed whiteworm, they are 18% fat and trimed beef heart only has 15% fat and gardenworms are cusions of white worms so the same may apply to them so why would you feed any of these ?
  21. , that so true and so funny - klaymann snap
  22. Well I agree with B&K, if you put the fry in as they grow they will make more and more waste as they grow. young growing fish, if feed well do produce a lot more waste per cm of fish then a large - full grown fish "" in most cases"" > and livebearers ( females )produce more waste per cm of fish then most egg layers ? true or false
  23. NO I wouldn't move any fish, you will spread the infection. yes if your fish are gasping at the surface then you will need to up the bubbles . will your CO2 system create a problem at nights?
  24. no i wouldn't go highter with neons they like it cool 18C to 22C. keep up replacement medication with water changes ( it's best to do a gravel vac at the same time to remove that stage of the parasites life cycle). how aggresive you choose to treat the infection is up to you , whether you do dayly or every second day. I find methlene blue to be a safer medication then the "green" good luck
