  14. I had a breeding pair (20cm) a few years back had them in a 4 footer with a Male Jag (25cm) a Albino golden tiger (30cm) and a mixture of other smaller fish they all got on well. The red heads kept the Jag in check when ever his aggression grew even the convicts would have a go at him. I found that the differing sizes of the fish help to contain and control any hostilities in the tank. Good luck.
  15. Thank you all for your welcome help.. with attempt as you say and will let you know how they progress thanks again..
  16. sorry for late reply they are cobalts and Zebra blues also the electric yellows are looking at breeding now have already had one batch of yellows that went well when i left them alone...
  17. Hi ,need advice for setting up a tank for the babies to grow out. Have had a couple breedings but the babies when the females released them died. First batch had about 20 fry that died after a few days. The second batch the egg sacs all bust. Had set up a tank with the tank water from the main tank, also cycled the filters in the same tank water. Had the thermostat set to 24-26 Celsius . Have read up as much as I can prior and scanned through what posts there are on here but still don't know what went wrong? Please answer with positive advice many thanks to you all. Gabe.
  18. my mating pair do the same with the pellets though they both go nuts when I give them the bloodworms then after a week or so she lays a bunch of eggs then when shes not looking he goes in and eats them.... my other female goes nuts with the worms but also the pellets too she is in a tank with my albino white tiger oscar so go figure .

  20. Missing as of a week ago. from around Exmouth Road Northcote if by chance anyone around this area reads this please contact me. She is 2 1/2 years old and quite a big girl. I have posted flyers locally and also rung the pet shops have managed to get a male replacement but still looking out for her. Have also stripped and searched the entire house out 3/4 times in case she managed to get stuck anywhere so we are confident to say she did a runner out the back door and down the flight of steps. hope its ok to post here thank you very much.
  21. way too small the alpha male i had would just squeeze in to that being just over 40 cms and only 7 years old with still lots of growing to go. best get a large tank for them.
