    some info.

Hi I have havend told my back ground yet so here it is. I am dutch and came here white my wife (she's a kiwi) to live she had a lot of homesicknes back in holland so now we are here. I am a member of three aquarium clubs at this moment 1 stil back in holland bin a member fore last 8 years 2 the marlborough club 3 the canterbury aquarium club It started when I whas oprox 7 years my older brother and I had two goldfish in a smal tank. And I finisd back in holland with 2 tanks 1 tank whas 160x60x60 cm and a bio filther of 120 ltr. tank 2 whas 80x80x80 cm and had a bio filter of 80 ltr. If you whant to see them they are in MEMBERS TANKS under scalare's tanks. At this moment I have a temp. 3ft tank with some new angels. in two weeks time I am gone start building (wooden tank)on my new tank this is gone be 115x65x75 cm and my old 3 ft turns in to my new bio filter. The fish are gone be 6 angels 15 cardinal tetra's 10 panda catfish 2 pleco's (1 red spot) I hope that I have given you enof info. and hope you enjoy the foto's on the members site . scalare

  9. eHi there My brother and I have workt whit jeager heaters lost of times and trust me it works fore the ltr. thay say. My two tanks both run on jagers tank 1 of 500ltr. and a 80ltr. bio filther (580 ltr. in total) tank 2 of 600ltr. and a 120ltr. bio filther (720 ltr. in total) never had a problem with my temp. Not even in the winter time with my room temp. at 5 degrees. My brother has a 1000ltr. tank with a 300ltr. bio filther (1300ltr.) and 2 heaters of 300w. and most of his tank inc. the filter are in a un heatet garage (the winters in holland are normal aprox -5 or more out zide) other brands din't pul this of in our tanks I had to run 3 heaters in (2x300w 1x200w) my first tank the 600ltr one to keep the temp right . and than I had 1 new jagger with my second tank and it workt a lot better and chancet the 3 fore 1 jeager no problems at all can you explain this pleace and yes my brothers tank is insolalet but stil more than 85% of it is in the garage.( Mine where not insolelet.) greating scalare
  10. Hi scalare here There is a other magazine with he name practical fishkeeping. this mag. is frome the UK have look in you pet ore fish strore if they dont have it ask if thay cane order it. And you can look onder www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk scalare
  11. Hi scalare here The best way of calculating how many fish you can have is 0.5 cm of fish per tlr. max 1cm of fish per ltr. example 1 neon tetra grows up to 5cm this is 5 ltr. Befour you put ani (buy) fish in your tank ask what the full size they grow to. And dont believe the farrytale that fish grow to the size of the thank this is only have (1/2) treu they my not grow up to ful size but they can stil grow to big fore your tank. When you have to many or to large fish after a while some fish wil pas away. I work in a pet store with the name animates if I think that a person has to many fish I dont sell them more fish but give theme advise. If you have a new hobby and your fish keep pasing away you loos interest. I hope the person in your pet store thinks the same. sorry fore my spelling scalar
  12. Hi scalare here Have look at the jager (frome eheim)heaters they heat a lot more than your normal heaters. Normal heaters is : 100w=100 ltr 200w=200ltr 300w=300ltr etc. jagers are : 100w=100 to 200ltr 200w=300 to 400ltr 300w=600 to 1000ltr so they are cheaper in juse (elc. bil) and a good and dont kost more thene the others. scalare
  13. Hi scalare here java moss can collect a lot of dust (floating particles in your tank) so you must have good a filter in your tank. scalare
