    Feeding Fish

No, actually the FNZAS server had a timeout and this resulted in the double post
  2. I have not seen or heard of any problems in leaving them in the tank. Everyone I have met so far has theirs sitting in one corner for easy access to clean the glass on a daily basis.
  3. You can PM seahorsemad. I know he has been keeping seahorses for a while now. He might be able to help you out or refer you to someone that might have the answers. Good luck and keep us updated.
  4. Overkill or not. I think the corals are amazing. Hope that when I get my new tank, it will someday look like that. 8)
  5. I also have a coral beauty and a yellow tang in the tank that shares in the food. I do not feed them frozen everyday. They will get frozen once a week or if they are were exceptionally good, twice a week. The rest of the time they will get a VERY small pinch of spirulina flakes.
  6. Congrats on your first fish. Just do not over feed him/her. Once a day should be good, and only a pinch of flakes if you are using those. If you are feeding frozen food, I would suggest only a bit less than half a block. It is always a good idea to have a mixture of food. They like variety in their diet. Mine are bald enough now, and I am able to hand feed them. 8)
  7. I have a question. my anemone look as follows: It has a red/dark pink base, green tentakles with faint purple tips. It was identified by a jansens employee as a bulb tip. Now I have never heard of thistype of anemone, only bubble tip. This unfortunately is nto a bubble tip. Any help highly appreciated.
  8. I have learnt the hard way that floro's are deffinately not the way to go at all. I have upgraded my lighting to T5's with 4 tubes (2 x white & 2 x blue). Each tube is something like 35W calculating to about 4.6W per galon of water. I have an anemone in the tank at present that sits about 10cm from the top of my tank, but it really requires a lot MORE lighting. If you are planning to keep an anemone, make sure that you start saving for Metal halide lighting.

I was a computer Geek, now I train them to become Geeks. 8) Unfortunately I will not be able to contribute as I would like to start up the CALVIN NEEDS A BIGGER SETUP FUND and I will be offering 2 sets of Ginsu knive sets and a chopping board for donations. (unlimited stock)
  10. How much will it cost for the drilling of the tank and including an overflow? I got a price for a 3footx18"x18" tank. It was only $65.
  11. Fortunately us small guys do not have to have this size skimmer on our tanks. I have an AquaMedic running on my tank and it is working wonders. I do not think one should shoot down a product just because it's not big enough for your use. What about the people that does not have the massive tanks??? I think credit should be given to the other products like AquaMedic as they are fantastic little skimmers for people with smaller tanks. GO AQUAMEDIC.
  12. Now my questions is why do they let go of the rock? I have about 6 drifting in the tank. One has actually attached to the side glass of my tank now.
  13. Still, these are very facinating pics. THanks for sharing them.
  14. There is only ONE jansens that supplies Marine stock. MT Eden
