wonder why the reef club meeting is so close to meetiong that was set some time ago?

As if work was not enough to cope with, I lost all my fish this week. Will hopefully start over and not kick the tanks to pieces.

Haven't dived yet, but in the planning stages.

Obviously something we are not really able to get here. (yet?) Think pink might be acro and green maybe monti? Just my guesses

Mine did not extend for 3 months. I moved it to a temp tank when I moved house, and now finally it started extending. (not fully yet ) My fijian leather also stopped extending before the move. I changed the phosfate remover and carbon in the canister, and it extended within 30 minutes. :-?

Do you have algea blooms? If so, I will suggest getting rid of the bubbles.

I have tried removing valonia manually, and got very frustrated. :evil: Bought a yellow tang and all my valonia problems disappeared.

I will be setting up my new tank in a couple of days. 5footx2footxfoot with a 150mm square overflow. I will be using my old tank (900lx250dx500h) as the sump. Had a cabinet and hood made for the tank. Should be arriving tomorrow morning. Need suggestions on setup and equipment. And NO, not the most expensive please.

You give it 1. I would rate that as -100. You not do things like that. If you take on the task of keeping any animal, you are supposed to look after them. Not have a rage fit and cause them to suffer just because you can. Shame on people that do that. :evil:

pointless to smash a tank if I might say so. Money obviously is not a problem to some. Or am I now being very nasty?

I have a T5 unit on my tank and I have no top glass cover on my tank. Helps with heat issues.

I was just making the point that it does not matter where you buy form, or what condition the fish are in when you get them, You can still get WhiteSpot and loose some fish in the process.

My friend bought fish without any signes of whitespot, and 1 1/2 weeks later the whole tank is infected. Now what????

Funny this. A friend of mine bought some freshwater fish and had exactly the same thing. She called me this morning to inform me what has happened and wanted some help. This afternoon she informed methat some of her tetra's died as well as the bristlenose. Any success with Whitespot cure?

I am all for the idea of an all NZ reef club. This will give us a better scope of people that are interested and force us not to forget our fellow reef keepers. I am also for a more formal club as I think that it being very "loose" might cause people to drop out. In saying this, I am not taking a stab at anyone. I would like to see us all stand together for a change. Kids are not a problem as I have none. I will even go as far as to say that the wives might want to meet each other and have a go at us about our hobby if they want. These are minor issues that we can sort out. I will do all that I can to get the club up and running smoothly, but this can only be done if everyone is going to stand together. Do I have your support on this??? This invitation goes out to all the reef keepers in this lovely country.

As I said before, I will be able to help with the merge. We do however need everyone to come to the party. Please let us know as soon as you know where it will be as I think a lot of people would like to attend.

I'm up for the job as president. Any objections?

I take it you are talking about the Joyce D Wilkerson book? I have had that one for nearly 2 months now. Well worth it though.

It's nice to how things grow (corals that is)
