It looks like little beeds with a green colour. The fish dont seem to be to bothered now i'm just worried about it blowing over all my corals and anemones i actually want to keep, i only used about 7mls. Robert

  9. Cant say i've had any problems they seem to be doing well in my tank the corals seem to grow and haven't had any failures, but cant say i've run anything else either.

  13. Kalk is just a short name for"Kalkwassar", you can purchase this from most good LFS "Local Fish Stores" its a calcium supliment. http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=SC1453 Rob
  14. Thanks all, I find the same thing when just giving them a small amount of Kalk they just seem to break up into smaller anemones and spread further i'l try covering them and see how it goes. Robert
  15. The other bonus is that i'm moving my tank into work this weekend so while the tanks down in transit if theres any other methods that i can take advantage of then sweet.
  16. I've just had enough of these pests for the past two months i've been battling to rid the tank using Kalk in a paste form and they just keep coming back in force the more i skwirt them the more that comes back is there a good reliable way to rid these pests other then the way i'm using now at the moment i have no fish in the tank the ones that have survived the Ick breakout are still in quarantine so only corals, anemones and shrimp in the tank at the mo, so i'm open to anything that wont harm them. Layton you mentioned draino?? I'm open to use it but i want to know that it's going to be safe enough, do you know of any study cases done on it? Kermit
  17. These pumps are all great but remember you have to size your overflow to your pump volume otherwise if your pump is to big for your overflow then you'l be moping up the water off the floor. here's a site that calculates it for you just put your pumps water volume in as gallons and click submit. http://www.reefcentral.com/calc/drain.php Robert
  18. Man that looks awsome dude, very nice. Rob & Michelle
  19. There's ussually not much difference in price between sizes some smaller lamps can be more due to supply and demand like a 2' fitting costs almost double of a 4' fitting due to demand. Didn't know bunnings sold fluro's good stuff, what brand are they? I use Osram Biolux 6500k and cheap off shelf item. Robert
  20. Thanks Caper she is good looking, and the tank.
  21. interesting Suphew, thanks for that. yeah the replacement value of a 4' 6500k lamp is $8-10 each for standard fluros, about $12-14 for VHO fluros and the MH i think about $30-35 each so four 4' fluros will equal 144watts for standard or 232watts and about for VHO costing between $32-56 each relacement when you look at two 150watt MH total of 300watts at $60-70 for replaement, then i'd replace the fluros about eery 6-9 months and the MH every 9-12 months so over all not that much difference, i supose in saying that we'd better go the MH way a especially since we have 2 5500k lamps never used sitting here(free with ballasts i've brought in the past). Cheers Bri for clearing it all up Rob & Michelle
  22. Well feast your eye's on these babies, my wifes 75l tank at the mo. we didn't realise that you can't use your Hotmail acount as a e-mail add when signing up on this site so we'll have to create one for the wife. oops the blue lights reflected from the marine tank. Rob & Michelle
