there are probably variuos plants they would come across that may have some type of fruit /berry in the wild?these would no doubt only be seasonal and therefore they would only eat them for this period.as to the flavour or makeup??who knows?
just hit hawkes bays a few minutes ago,was out vacumming the pool and was still and warm, just finished and large heavy raindrops, then howling winds and more rain, probably have to redo the flippin pool again??
i have 2 now and they seem very precise?only as good as the place you set them up mind you, even in the coolest wardrobe in the house they can sneak up in the heat of summer(assuming you get one)lucky ours was not up to much this year.I meant the live food for the babies,if you get my drift.Have all systems go before you contemplate hatching any eggs.I do not hatch anymore for the reason of the work and time involved,a good experience but not what it seems.
$265 for a brand new still air hovabator off tm is what you want.Sure you can build one but I doubt you would get the same presicion of temps for the same money?I have hatched red ears in evrything from heated fish tanks, waterbed drawers, hot water cuppboards etc. They all work but the incubator is well worth its price.Don`t even go there unless you have copious quantities of live food on hand at all times.
something different won`t hurt.there are alsorts of stories about mealworms, most seem to be just that,I have fed young beardies huge numbers of these with none of the `stories`coming true.as long as its not a staple diet go for it.
I know its probably not what Donna means when she says they burrow into it for warmth??There is nothing warrn about hibernation. What they want somewhere of even temperature where they can be undisturbed through winter.I have seen more problems with good intentioned people getting them out and having a look at them to see if they are alright? When they hibernate provide them with suitable habitat and let them get on with it.
they don`t take long at all.if you were feeding them out to leopard g`s they would be too big within 10-14 days?I take it they are meant to be your breeders so probably a good idea to get some more big ones and just get some eggs started as soon as you can and feed the smaller ones till they get too big.The temp sounds about right now.
no your not.they need to be in the thirties to produce viable eggs. And don!t worry they grow pretty fast.Wear a dust mask when you are feeding them etc as they can cause seriuos alergic reactions in some people.I have just recently done away with rearing them for this reason.Had like a permanent cold/flu and asthma symptoms that I have never had in my life.
get with the program mate. They are native endemic animals.Once in captivity release is not allowed or reccomended for fear of transfering disaeses to wild populations. Also as previously stated localised colonies have distinctive genetic differences.

Is this Leopard Geckos and L46?
I dont see their prices dropping for a few yeaars. They are hard to source...
Then with the Leopards if someone works on a Morph then the bucks will go back up.
However yes if the bill passes many will be chucked into the wild and i dont see the prices dropping again, they may even rise as they will be hard t o source and will only go to serious breeders/collectors that know what they are doing.
only morally? There are plenty of people that have experience that i would happily give newborns to but there are alot more people that you would have qualms giving or selling any age lizard to??
