can of worms has just opened. I skim wet, dark tea color. I think i read some where that there is a difference between skimming wet vrs dry. I will see if i can find it.

Has anyone tryed this food? It comes in a pellet form, i was thinking of trying it however it come in a 1kg bag for about $100.

Drop the salinity down to about 1.020. Problem is how to tell what level you are at the moment. Go and buy a refractometer.

Do you have corals? Whats the salinity?

That should not be a problem with regular water changes, silicates don't dissolve very well. Google "making coral rock" this will give you some ideas Here is one i found http://saltaquarium.about.com/gi/dynami ... Rocks.html

I have 9 chromis in my tanks, they sort of school. I have sunlight that comes into my tank in the summer evenings, no problems with algae.

Yip all good. My sixline has been round for about 4 years now i think, never caused a problem. I also think it helps to keep things like parasitic snails and nudis down. Although i do not no this for sure.

I am sure he wouldn't be the first one to have done this. Maybe just the first one to be caught. Does anyone else find it strange that he has had the plants since last year? Took them a while to catch on

Yeah no worries. I have seen and had 6500k and 10000k bulbs, but never 8000k bulbs. I will let you know, PM will be best so keep an eye out. Will make some calls tomorrow

Yeah, they are branded a bit diff. You are after 150w de a. 150w de come in 6500k for sure. I think they call them coralstar? i will check. It is really only fish people that use bulbs with a higher k rating, that is over 6500k.

I have never been able to keep goldfish, never. Corals and marine fish, no worries. Strange

Thanks, problem is my dosing pump adds the two at the same time. How far do you think dosing pumps could suck/pump? 5+m

So you can't get 6500k bulbs?? How about osram or Sylvania. I can get them down here if you get stuck, they are pretty common.

Same, i make up fresh batches every month. I found the dosing pumps to be a cheaper option for me. I have always had problems with reactors, i could never get them set quite right so i went to the dosing pumps. As a side note i am adding 250g (KH and CA) to 4ltr of water. Is there any reason why i can't add say 500g or 750g or 1000g to the 4ltr of water. It would then last longer which would be good. At what point would i get a saturated solution.

Bl%$#@ glass anemones. I have fount the best way is to put something in that eats them (peppermint shrimp or copper band) I have had a bit of success with kalk and joes juice, with these you really need to do it daily for a while.
