I would just keep feeding the fish. IMO, you are right, they need food. However you should only do this if your tank is somewhat nutrient limited, that is low to nil nitrate/po4. If there is nitrate present then it may not be the best time to feed them. especially at the level your at. The trick is to have a very clean tank, feed lots and then get rid of the waste as soon as you can. The food you are feeding the fish should be enough at the moment. I am going thru the same sort of thing just now. I cut out the bi weekly feeding of seafood mush and just feed the fish. With water changes and a couple of other things my nitrate has come down from about 50 - 80 to about 10. I have just started dosing AA and thinking about creatine still reading though.

Yeah very true. Don't fall in to the trap of buying one to early. I should of added mine only ate live food up untill about a year ago.

How high are they, mine were really high and i reduced feeding, well it was more making sure everything was eaten. Now they have come down a bit and i am increasing it again. I am feeding the corals a milkshake of seafood every second night. mussel, shrimp, pipi, clam etc + AA

Poly would be fine. If you are still a bit concerned then cut it length ways and have the gap in the middle.

Was there a difference in growth when the levels were higher? Did you get the same results with just an elevated KH?

If you keep your Mg high does this not prevent precipitation?

Hmmmmmmmm I think your mad There is no way i would run a ck valve like that. I would run a pipe to the surface or put an overflow in. Maybe if you don't want to see any pipes drill the back panel.

A mate of mine got 4, thru them in and never saw them again untill 4 months later when we were moving his stuff over to his 2000 x 950 x 750 tank.

My kit expires in like 2009, brought a new one and the nitrate was thru the roof. Just a thought anyway Have you thought about heavy metals?? Do you use NSW, maybe some hydrocarbon?? Crabs, worms??? Roundup? I have no idea just throwing ideas out there

How old are you test kits? Do you keep them cool? I had a problem with some of mine, think the heat hurt them???????

The mg and sr levels are quite low in that product. You are better to add them by them selves.
