  1. Just a heads up that they're dirty fish, so make sure you have adequate filtration without too much flow as they're not the best swimmers either.
  2. It's definitely better! Would love to see Aquariumworld.nz on Tapatalk though!
  3. As far as I know the sodastream bottles have a unique connection that you need an adapter to use with standard regulators. You can get an adapter here: https://www.kegresources.co.nz/online-store/categoty-layout/co2-equipment/sodastream-cylinder-adapter-detail
  4. So I suppose the moral of the story is if I want to go for a big tank, make sure it's a new one and I keep my receipts.
  5. Good lord...where was this if you don't mind me asking? Was it a chain? O_o
  6. Hi Adrienne! Any particular reason that it split? I would really love to have a big tank eventually, but as a new homeowner I'm terrified of the possible disaster waiting to happen. I'm sure my wife would divorce me if one of my aquariums did $10k in damage to our home. >_>
  7. I'm afraid not! Murky water. :/
  8. The first one was about a foot and a half or more. Sorry for the English measurement, I'm American. >_>
  9. So it has multiple culverts feeding into it like this. Then just before running under Guys Road it goes down this concrete waterfall. Heaps of goldfish. Some of them around a foot or more in length. Other side of Guys Rd. I think it needs a shorter light cycle.
  10. I'm not entirely sure! It flows like a creek and has an artificial waterfall on one end next to the soccer field. The water flows in from underground through some culverts that run under the road and under the subdivisions across Smales Road. So no idea! Edit: I'm about to go pick up my boy from tutoring, I'll snap some pictures quickly on my way.
  11. He was absolutely annihlating some big tadpoles there by those plants.
  12. Went for a quick look down by the water at the reserve that runs along Kevin Hart Drive today. Saw what looked like a big black goldfish, but I'm sure you folks will have a better idea. Thought I would share! Can anyone identify these marginal plants? http://imgur.com/a/Ohgvn
  13. http://www.stuff.co.nz/life-style/home-property/72322454/Million-dollar-apartment-in-Wellington-gutted-after-fish-tank-accident I wonder if this will have any affect on renter's being able to find flats that allow aquariums...
  14. That's...almost too convenient. I work in Higbrook. lmao Thank you!
  15. As the subject states, I'm looking to buy a good handful of Azolla! I'm located in Auckland but if the price is good I'm happy to pay for posting as well. Reply here or send me a message! Thanks! - Devrens
  16. No longer needing anything! Thanks for looking! - Devrens
  17. Sorry for semi-necroing this thread, but... I just wanted to share my success with gorilla glue. It works really well with driftwood provided you're able to tie or clamp the pieces together. It cures in three hours, but I'd give it at least a day or two before adding it to your aquarium. - Dev
  18. Thanks so much guys! When I did/do a Google search I get this: None of which looked like the one on the listing, hence my confusion. :dno:
  19. What sort of fish is this? The listing calls it a leopard fish but it looks nothing like the leopard fish that comes up when I do a google search! http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=810934935 Thanks guys!
  20. Looks great! What size tank are you keeping them in? Does the cray bother the fishies?
  21. You betya! I'd rather not get thrown out of the gardens.
  22. Would you happen to know how big to the bullies get?
  23. And they won't mind me swiping a couple?
  24. Hi guys! Is there anywhere in Auckland that I can either buy or catch fresh water crayfish for an aquarium? I used to catch them in shallow creeks back home in the USA, but have no idea where to even begin here. Thanks in advance! - Devrens
