Well the biggest Long fin eel on record was over eight feet long and 85 kgs

Before any one asks no way there's salt water getting any where near their

If there very rare in nz you should not get one unless you try to breed

I do think they can be found in a few mangrove swamps but their quite rare and unless you could turn a whole section of you back yard in to a make shift mangrove swamp they would be very unhappy in captivity

It's not that my internet is wonky at the moment so I can't transfer the pic on photo bucket to here feel free to have a look

No in some of deepest parts of the steam

So I went to a steam today and on a lot of the rocks was this stange fissiden like red plant any ideas on what it is(I took some home as well as a different fissiden) it was in a quite fast flowing wide steam mostly shaded by native trees it seemed to like to grow in the shade

Don't go saying Carnivorous plants don't like to be wet most live in swamps and rain forests there are also many species that are fully aquatic even one or two native ones (bladder worts) that do -
If you had a 500l plus round tank you could have the smaller species like cat sharks

No where near the surface and got plenty of snails 3 types would getting more shrimp help they like to eat that stuff right

So now it's all set up but I got a bad algae problem it's not water born or on the glass its that horrible green sludge algae I have some algae killer but it says it's not crustacean safe which means I can't use it for this can someone give me the name of a crustacean safe one

I don't under stand what's going on with you I always wait at least a fortnight to ad fish and by then the waters all clear and the starter plants are happy

Thanks also i was wandering how much you guys feed your crayfish Also if they can grow back arms mine has one thats been ripped off ( bigger more agreve crayfish Also in there for over a day and a half and has not touched one of the many plants
