  1. I think most of us can work that bit out by ourselves :yawnn:
  2. Nice! Clear easy to follow instructions too! I might have to steal this one day soon
  3. Sounds interesting, what consistency would you be aiming for?
  4. I bought some sinking cichlid pellets for my natives, but they don't even notice it (it seems to sink too quickly) The bandeds in the drains love it even the 20+cm ones started eating it straight away. So, best way to teach my tank fish? Stop feeding them for a few days? Or maybe catch one of the smaller kokopu in the drain that's already learnt to eat the pellets? Or maybe get some slower sinking pellets until they learn to eat them? Thanks
  5. I get quite a few live bloodworms in my mosquito larvae tubs, my fish also love water beetle larvae and other pond bugs.
  6. Backswimmers, water boatmen, flies and mosquito larvae. And raw shrimp or prawns.
  7. I don't know the visual difference, but if you keep it in a low light tank the native one should survive and the other one will likely start to die
  8. Common goldfish= $15 (this price is just at one pet shop)
  9. Willyp123 might be able to help you, and we can all help you with info and advice. Good luck!
  10. My GF lives in Aussie, but my parents said I can have as many as I can fit in my room. I have 3, 2x 230 litres and an empty 32 litre.
  11. That means you have good ideas I wish I was in auckland, I'd help you set it up! if you need any giant kokopu, I'd suggest getting in contact with david cooper at MTI. He is very helpful. Where did you get the stuff? I'm really jealous right now :an!gry
  12. It's still an accurate representation of some of NZ's waterways
  13. 12 litres of ice three times a day is keeping it between 12 and 15 degrees, but I don't have enough freezer space for the ice for the second 230 litre I got last week  The temp is sitting at 24 degrees, maybe I should go unheated tropical :slfg:
  14. Looks good! Looks like you git rid of the whitespot
  15. What would you do SeargentSkull?
  16. I'm not sure if bettas raise their young? But fish can often eat their first couple of spawns.
  17. Pretty empty, a 4 metre tank would likely be 4 by 1 by 1 which would give you 4000 litres
  18. That would be awesome..... How many litres is this hypothetical tank? I would get 15 banded kokopu 10 giant kokopu a school of 50 inanga 5-10 torrentfish and dozens of bullies. Would be awesome!!!! Rocky with long native grasses across the back, fissiden covered logs and other natives popping up in amongst the rocks..... Now please tell me you actually have all that and you want to give it to someone *cough me *cough  EDIT: I think there would also need to be a hypothetical bug farm next door.... Or a massive pond with millions of bugs in it :nilly:
