    Fish room

I am hoping to start this as a thread for hearing peoples experiences when building a fish room. Insulation options, racking options, tanks, filtration, heating, build pictures, completed pictures, lessons learnt, do's and do not's, ways to save money, things not to skimp money on, breeding issues, if people have their rooms designed for breeding or just for keeping fish for the love of it, W/C systems, layouts. Basicly anything to do with the ins and outs of running, setting up and keeping a room. I would love to start with some pics... but I have not got that far just yet ( good things take time) but if anybody else would care to share please go for it.
  2. ^^^^^ :sml1: sucker for a few days ago. I am listening to Collective Soul- 7even year itch (greatest hits)
  3. I think shot in the head, but I dont know many people who would be smiling if they got a head shot. So lets go with tomato :smot:
  4. Man where on earth do you find all these pictures for such an occasion?
  5. Truely amazing fish. I have now added rainbows to the list that I want...
  6. Haha, I tryed to play monkey man by trying to make blind guppies by keeping them in my sump without any light. Turns out I just forgot to feed them and they died, out of sight out of mind and that .
  7. The Crochet Coral Reef (CCR) is a project by the Institute For Figuring, a non-profit Los-Angeles based organization that pioneers creative new methods for engaging the public about scientific and environmental issues by putting people and communities at the core. I would suspect that this statement is the drive behind it and the tank is mearly a byproduct of this.
  8. I like that run over design on that section of the sump. Very nice stuff
  9. That bird is the word
  10. Thoese loaches are coooool
  11. Did you motion them the back off via the bird, which is apparntly the word
  12. How many skunks did you have in the tank? Are they like other loaches and prefer big groups? (p.s, I have not done any research on skunkies...) What are Polka-dot loaches and tiger loaches?
  13. Maybe he jumped into the pita... mmm pita !drool:
  14. What was your set up like? Please elaborate on your fishkeeping experience with them....
  15. I have heard skunks are nasty little buggers, thats why I want some. Except I am planing on keeping them in a species tank.
  16. Unplug your heater again, and play sceintist
  17. Haha yeh I am. It was only a temparery thing, like so temparery it was only gunna be on for a couple of hours. I never imagined that it would do that.
  18. They are realy cool corys
  19. interesting. I was thinking pandas with my dwarf chains. Maybe not now
  20. If only I had payed attention before I posted. What type of corys are the ones with the black bank over their eye and down their spine?
  21. Sorry, I should of mentioned all the fish will be young. As for the other requirments temp, food etc I would be making sure all are compatable pre purchese I am currently very into loaches and have always liked corys, but the only tanks I have that could hold them (AKA they will not get eatn in) are hosuing plecos hence my question.
  22. Sweet. Standard rule as every fish. Lots of caves/wood/holes/crevices etc?
  23. Loaches, corys and dwarf plecos in a tank together happily. No desire to breed any of them, just keep them togeter in groups in one tank.
