awesome as always dude you got some new pic's of that frag i gave ya? oh, and what camera this time?
  4. i dont let mine drop below about 6.5 now. it drops about 0.3kH per day and thats with the CR running (but not fully optimised) and just top it back up to 10 every 10 days or so.
  5. hurry up what are you mucking around at?
  6. im saying this from experience - if you're seriously going sps later, save yourself money get halides with decent reflectors now! most sps need hard core light and if you want colour, decent lighting will help considerably. other option is combo of halide + t5, seems to work well.
  7. certainly made the biggest improvement to my tank so far.

    bulk sea water

speaking of which, high tide is 10am (akl) this sat. morning. hopefully the weather will hold out will go get 200 litres. got 80 litres last night (only coz i had the buckets in my boot and was driving past) water was MINT. PE last night was huge, clearly the corals needed it!
  9. been just over a couple of weeks now so the HRV's all settled in. definately works. "heat recovery" works (even though it relies on ceiling heat) although still need oil heaters on at night. ventilation certainly works, tastier air still some condensation, but minimal. happy with the product, not happy with the service. still waiting on my wine. might give it another week before i make a complaint
  10. except that it sux
  11. puts hand up... pretty please?
  12. nah mate always been like that, it's coz there's only a 150W halide 2.5 feet above it!! its quite a low light spot. interesting to see what happens to it when i put the last 400W with lumen arc on this weekend.

    blues bed

so does mine... except when he's getting stuck to the side of streams
  14. unlike some people, i dont get upset about such trivial things
  15. and that being of course,... is that the above is modified. perhaps i over did it a little as joeblog mentioned to me, the coralline on the glass gives it away (too orange  ) even so, the mod'd photo above is closer to the actual tank than the original photo, those who have been over lately can vouch for that 8) just showing how easy it is the original...
  16. yes, i realise what brine are - just questioning whether it was your spelling - thought there might be some magical CBB food called "brime" around that i hadn't heard of!

    KP's Tank Build

its just like cooking rocks but in your main system. i have the same thing in my sump, i sucked out a HEAP of crap sitting on the bottom of the tank that was shed from those rocks. its clean as now, and i have left it there ready for use later when i get around to the upgrade. still, it should add somewhat to biological filtration surely?
  18. hope ya dont mind either cracker, right side difference, this is in 1 year exactly... i think its about time i go buy some more acro's  july 2005 july 2006 something else to show shortly...

    dosing virgin

keep my pH up (as i edited above, to say i dont use kalk) plus i dont dose baking soda as often as you, i got a CR. although the CR still needs optimising so still use baking soda to lift the levels once a fortnight.
