  2. ahem,... i think it's best you put a couple in someone else's tank as a test. my pink's are growing well, dont have any greens though... hint hint...

    t&e ad

so it is you and i assume you want to remain anon...? and if so, was that a real lame excuse at taking the piss...?
  5. was waiting for that one. still, i dont even see many pods in the fuge, fullstop. im sure they dont all go down the overflow.
  6. cool, can you syphon some out, cryogenically freeze them and ship up to auck's dude?
  7. tried to get the mandarin tonight, almost got 'em, but the net i had got hooked on an acro almost ripping it, by the time i got it unhooked he sneaked under a rock... arghhh!!! need that fish trap again! next water change im going to take out some water from the main tank and put it into the little 3 footer i have and see if I can brew up a massive pod population. i can at least empty them into the main tank every now and then or use it as qt tank in emergencies. i got a spare heater, lights, sand, rock and a pathetic little skimmer so no harm in trying. is it ok using an airstone for a bit of aeration? whats best to add to the tank to feed the pods or will the natural build up of algae be sufficient to feed them?
  8. toothbrush handle and aqua-kneadit a thin pvc pipe would be most suitable.
  9. looking nice mate, NICE! good to see the angel in the shot too i suggest if you want a better view of it, click here (as this site resizes photo's to a lower res)

    HELP

oh ok, i dont know his tank well enough. could the clam get effected by too much carbon?
  11. thanks wasp, much appreciated. i've also got a reasonable size fuge (4 foot) but dont see too much pod activity
  12. thanks wasp i'll try it really? why is that? do they live off nutrients? still, anyone wanting to help me kick off a larger pod population please let me know. the refugium seems to be reasonable, but still not enough. hard part is catching him! i might setup a little 3 footer separate to the rest of the system, chuck some sand and live rock in and use that as a backup breeding ground! thought about it last night, i can build a stand under the refugium to fit it in easily enough. can double as my clown breeding tank later too speaking of which, have you decided to start breeding yet pies? manage to get rotifiers yet?

    Photos Please!

i reckon, the colours are fantastic. well done!
  15. aye carumba,... noticed my mandarin tonight is looking EXTREMELY thin. poor little bugger. the main tank used to be loaded with pods and he was starting to get quite fat... but as of late he's gone backwards. i will try and move him to the refugium but that doesnt seem to look overly populated either at the moment? so, im in the same boat as wasp. anyone with a good pod population they are willing to share, swap for frags or take cash for let me know.
  16. most definately, more room = greater population = faster reproduction! i'd be keen on a heap of pods to help kick start a larger population. i seem to have enough, but you never can tell?
