how about squid or cuttlefish? surely they wouldnt be as crafty and are sort of close enough
  2. Can anyone direct me to where i might find a list of the FNZAS registered breeders in nz and their associated species please, if there is one available?
  3. It is definitely the least user friendly forum I have used, and I have used alot!! Mainly due to the rigmarole of actually becoming a member though, apart from that it is basically the same as any other and the knowledge of the people here makes it more than worth it. The easiest way is to have a photobucket or twitpic account if you want to put pics on here.
  4. Id say for a 25k donation they would work out some sort of vip pass for you
  5. Here in chch it was 50$ from tanktest to fill a 3.5kg! Have heard there is another guy on other side of town who could be a little cheaper, but that is a pretty crazy profit margin if you guys are paying 7$ kilo!
  6. "If aquatic species are moved between the islands", I guess this means moved between natural aquaria from island to island? or does it apply to all native species moving between artificial aquaria, it seems unclear.
  7. There is one small piece of driftwood in my tank and plenty of well secluded areas of crushed coral substrate, but 2 of my jewels have just started to try and affix eggs to the side of the wood instead of digging a little pit like I would expect. I cant find anything about this specifically could anyone tell me if this is normal and if it would possibly result in a successful spawn?
  8. Yeah, you know, cyrtocara moori, they look exactly like this
  9. thanks guys! quite different from the blue dolphins the person thought they were who I got them off
  10. they look a little like a female red empress, but the juvie pic on here http://www.malawimayhem.com/profile_show.php?id=377 shows alot more colours in the juvenile fish, thought they could just be too young to show colour yet, though some have yellow comin in on the anal fin
  11. can someone tell me what these are please ?
  12. red and yellow and pink and green, purple and yellow and blue But seriously, the Pembas are a cool range of colours though not from Malawi. Kandangos would probably be suitable as well and show a nice range of colours throughout quite a few phenotypes. Also the OB Peacocks, although a man made species, have a pretty sweet range of colours too. In your size tank you should be able to provide hiding places for a wicked community of cichlids!
