well just went for a look at redwood an couldnt turn down the offer an geting to put it on layby.. EHEIM PRO3 1200XL was on sale from $1080 to $860 comes complete with media.. an the FX5 was $900 so yea thats my xmas present

ohk alright maybe im just not understanding it right i just dont understand how the bottom needs to be thicker when the bottom is going to be on a solid base an wont bow but will it affect the side panels?

does a tank thats 2.1m x 600 x 600 said needs 10mm sides BUT A 12MM base? does it really need a 12mm base if i build the stand out of 4by2s an TWO sheets of 20mm mdf for the base to sit on.. flatmate is a builder an built my stand i got at the moment thats holding up a 400l tank

as per my other thread about the 750l tank getting built, need to upgrade my filter an am a bit unsure of what filter to go for,i have a eheim pro2 at the moment for my 400l an has been sweet brought it 2nd hand but havent had a problem but now dont know what to go for the fluval fx5 because its reasonable priced but dont know if its really worth the extra $ to get the eheim any help would be great

yea im more swinging to the way of getting it built, was planning on going an getting the glass already in the right sizes for me to put together but yea would need to do alot of research an yea being my 1st time i would just be prayin that it was all sweet... apart from that do you reakon its a decent size tank for a giant red gourami and a fire eel?

hey ppl need to upgrade my tank.. im going to make it 2.1mtr by 600 wide by 600high. now i dont know wether to pay for a tank to be built or go to the glass place an get the sheets an do it myself? so how hard is it to build a tank? iv never done it before but iv helpd my m8 replace the bootom of his turtle tank which was 1500 long by 500 wide. ...know thats a bit diffrent but thats all the experince iv had as far as that goes. if someone could get back to me asap would be good.

hey i have just noticed my 40cm fire eel has a white rash on his tail... apart from that he seems to be fine? just wondering what i could do to treat him without up setting him or other fish

no nothings changed in the set up at all, an if anything i may have over fed em a bit? i wouldnt say it gets direct sunlight its in the middel of the lounge on the external wall nearest windows is couple meters away each day an one window suns their early morning.. im yet to get a gravel cleaner,been looking at the Eheim Quick Vac Pro Gravel Cleaner ones are they good? or the Marina AquaVac Gravel Cleaner & Water Changer

yup i do at the moment..been like it for a couple of weeks now.but before that it used to be perfect crystal clear then it started getting a little of now its jst real green iv been doin 1/4 of a water change everyday..im yet to get a gravel cleaning pump

hey having a bit of trouble finding a nice bathroom mirror at a resonable price, i installed a new vanity an then put the new mirror on the wall an in the process of fixing it their i broke it, am after one 1200mm long by 900+ high AM IN CHCH anyone help?

alright thanks for that better knock that one on the head then.. was just coz making sandwiches for work an then thought wonder if theyd like it an yup sure enough they were all going nuts over it,so yea been feeding them. tryed feeding him beef hearts or something like that an kindneys but didnt really like it. guess few people on here have big fire eels what do yous feed them? he can be pretty fussy sometimes i know that but never turns down a bit of ham

hey i have a fire eel he is about 30-40cm pretty cool fish,have one of those big helicopters he lives in their with the black ghost knife,an he sticks his head out the tail of the helicopter,but one day i droped a bit of ham in their an both of them straight out for it even fish going nuts over it.. so been hand feeding him that,been doing it for few weeks now. just wondering if its alright to feed them that?
