  1. Yeah guess so, pretty much it's all because of habitat problems, small tanks, no heaters, impaction from substrate, Respitory Infections, no UV, lack of nutrients ect pretty sad to be honest &c:ry
  2. +1 as a baby it's essential to have UVB so they don't get deformed shells and problems in the future.
  3. Hi Keep the water at a steady temperature, at this time of day but turn your lights off and don't feed for a day or so. Your water is already dechlorinated so there's not much else. Just don't stress them out even more. Hope it all works out. Matt
  4. Did you use a chlorine remover? And what are your water parameters ie ammonia, nitrites and nitrates? This info will help Good luck!

    This or that

Rugby! Build a pond in the weekend or do homework?jk I'm building a pond :slfg: Umm swim or float?
  6. Kk I wouldn't imagine she would want more than that. Just gives a pm or a reply when you know. Thanks Matt
  7. I'm not sure, I guess a few, how many are you wanting to give away?
  8. Hey Thanks for that! I'll give her a call tonight to see if she can pick them up, as she works in Wellington. I'll get back to you in a bit
  9. Hey That's cool! Where in Wellington are you located? And pickup/drop off? Thanks Matt
  10. The ones in the hex tank? Yeah I thought it was dead, was lying in the sand...
  11. Yeah, it's full of that black bubble stuff! Looks like tar bubbles to me and the one closer to the back has little stock now, and the front one has green like tentacle things no not coral starting to take over it... Also goods are over priced there. An aqua one(I think)CF1200 was over $300 there :dunno:
  12. I doubt he treats the tanks for ich or whtespot.
  13. Mmm I have a black belt and have never been seriously injured, I do a few tournaments and sparring nearly every week only bruises and scars
  14. Yes I can see where you are coming from. Google is pro ally replacing the information and the goods are online. Only reason I don't buy much fish online is shipping I guess
  15. Sorry but I regularly go in there maybe once a week or two weeks. The fish are sometimes sick, and cramped and just on Sunday I saw half, yes half a platy floating around in a tank with plates, minnows and corydoras. It must've been there a while... Also I don't think it's that great of an idea to have 30+ neons in a tank no bigger than 60x30 most likely a lot smaller than that. They do help occasionally and yes he is very polite and great service. I think he needs to focus a bit more on the maintainence. I think the new pet shop will do well because so many people are detered from buying from the pet house because the fish are kept in poor conditions. I mean it costs very little to do a water change on those tanks.
  16. Hi I saw those, but she said she doesn't want to pay for them and would rather catch some. Thanks anyway
  17. Hello I was talking to my mums friend, and she said she has a pond. She used to have some tree frogs until the council sprayed them  :an!gry I'd love to help her and get some more for her. So if anyone in Kapiti knows where you can find brown tree frogs/tadpoles, I'd love to know. Thanks in advance Matt.
  18. +1 totally agree, I went on Sunday it's pretty damn useless, hopefully the new pet shop will fix it fingers crossed
  19. Hmm a sheet of acrylic may cost $80 depends on where you buy,you only need a thin sheet so should be relatively cheap depending on size.
  20. I'm not sure, I was talking to my mate(Colin is his user) and he applied a day too late, it started to take applicants on the 07/09/11 must've finished pretty quick maybe 16th? She(the owner) said she had heaps of applicants, so maybe one of the employees will know about fish and can actually help unlike the current LFS...
  21. Oh lol yeah stopped that when I was 10, that's all I thought of, LOLLIES. Even at 15
  22. Wow we actually only have 1(this one opening will be the 2nd). I believe this one will be called Kapiti Kritters near place makers. The only other one running of my knowledge is the pet house at coastlands. It seems to have downsized and looks more empty to me. The one at the beach down the same road as foursquare has shutdown a few months ago. This one that is starting, hasn't even cycled their tanks yet. No water in the tanks but it is looking good
  23. How does one accurately measure ones body fat index? Can't just stick your weight and height in a calculator, doesn't seem like it'd be 100% accurate. Too many variables and I hear muscle weighs 3x more than fat unsure if it's true or not.
