The convicts do have a wide ph range but are mainly found in water 6.6 to 7.as for the jewels they are mainly found in ph upwards of 7.2 my stepfather worked in africa as a dive master and tour guide for 12 years.you could keep all the fish together including convicts as theyl adapt to there water.keep us updated with some pics :thup:

Covicts come from more qcidic areas so should be housed with other american cichlids really.and the jewels are still african cichlids so should be housed with similar species.in a 6ft you could do a nice hap ta :slfg: nk ryanjury from here has some nice cichlids you could stock it with i would definetly go africans in a tank that size personally keep only male convicts and ur off :slfg:

Yep you can house them fine together the convicts need different ph to the africans though and shouldnt really be housed with the others Ps welcome to the forum maybe introduce yourwelf in the welcome part :roey:

Regardless of what they are there very :nfs: get em breeding and sell them.im not so much a purest if two species breed thats nature and i mainly get fish for looks i couldnt really care where they have come from as long as im happy with them thats all that matters 2 me :slfg:

Agreed fishy fish helping with the id would be constructive rather than doubting ive done a good search on aulonocara hueseri and they do look very similar. so whats the point in saying keep fish pure if you have no history of the origin or if they hybrids thats just contradicting yourself by saying keep it pure when you have no proof any of yours are pure right?

i attempted to get my holding fish out of my main tank a month ago and i had them in a bucket one kadango female and one sunshine peacock female a single egg must have fallen out of the kadangos mouth and the sunshine picked it up because i have one kadango in with around 20 sunshine babies its the only one with orange fins.so my female peacock raised another fishes young

Ive never wet my food for the goldys ive been breedingthem since i was 8 and had over 3000 of them goldys eat anything readily and mine ate alot bugs falling onto water maybe ur fish r picky?

a little update after along time.3 weeks later have finally started getting things sorted cars a write off damage was over $3500 and i will be getting paid out.just found out my poor litlle honda will be going to a tender auction so gutted am thinking of buying it back and turning into track car is basically one now with all my mods haha.anyways 3 weeks is along time she ended up lying and stuff but got it sorted now hopefully that is.and necks still stiff after 3 weeks maybe time to see the doc?or poor sleep cant tell

just swap tank water and put old filter media 50/50 with new and your away ive always done that

:smot: anyways there is better ways to get the greens into the fish other than nori i only use it as a treat and it should be just that hikari cichlid excel is cheap and good quality i suggest getting something like that

If u fed them it everyday it might be a problem but it is algae aswell so would be benefits aswell my fish arent going to die feeding them it once a week

i dont agree with it but that is my opinion i have seen it first hand what a controlling parent can do to a teenager and its not fair on them.i was not a good kid i just did what was right by my family and still do but just because i did the right thing doesnt mean i was good trust me i got into all sorts of mischeif some serious.i think it was very extreme but eahc to there own i geuss i just feel sorry for ids who have to go thrugh life being told what to do and dont leave home till in there 20s and when they do they arent socialised as everyone else and become outkasts and dont want to be out its a sad state when that happens i have had a few friends like that and it sucks they have to be at home by 7 no phone no intenet or nothing until a ridiculous amount of stuff is done for there parents

What about the girls side we only saw his teens are always going to act out and shooting a laptop for a Facebook comment is nuts he should be actually helping her in life she will end up having slot of hatred for him and will no doubt lose contact etc when she moves out he's a control freak

How can u say he's doing the right thing though some parents are over controlling nutters who rule there kids with an iron fist I'm not of the Facebook generation I'm 22 and left home at 14 and worked full time some of my friends had such controlling parents like this guy seems to be.just because he pays for everything doesn't mean she's a slave.I bet she actually does alot and he responded like that to make him look good as he knew she couldn't defend herself. I worked my ass off as a teen to help my solo mother pay the bills while trying to have my own life and take care of family but watched my friends suffering because of there parents controlling and manipulating them.I'm a father now and will prepare my children for the real world not control there world

haha wrong pic that one is of azureus but the one i added underneath azureus is a peacock and you can tell from the thin long body shape where as the azureus has a more bigger build and is shorter
