  12. wow i just read every single post in this thread from day 1, ive been missing out! i like the new scape a lot more, IMO i think you should cut down in stem plants, i think r. rotundifoloia would look very nice in a large group, h polysperma doesnt make as nice groups in my experience. i think this is a good idea have it half way on the transitional substrate area, then have hairgrass or some other lower plant growing around the back half of it wish i could send you some of the awesome plants here
  13. UPDATE 12 days after planting and things are really taking off, ill never be able to go back to no pressurised co2. i have increased lighting to 8hours pics tomorrow schedual will consist of hc trimming e.parvula tidying, moss trimming water change

  16. hey guys! so this past weekend i attended The art of the planted aquarium. This was to be my first aquascaping event, certainly not my last, if i can help it. i went on friday and saturday, sunday would have been done but i was in Bremen to visit family. I was staying at my friends house, on the friday i went into the Underground and caught the rail to the east entrance. this tturned out to be the opposite end of entry, ok cant be that long right? i was told to try the south gate, when i got there it was for commercial entrace etc. i asked if i could get in through here, i was asked if i had a ticket, my reflex answer was for sure, so i was going to the event without a ticket. so far so good. as i got closer to hall 17 a tall temporary fence seemed to be conspiring against me. i had a quick look around and hitched up my pants and climbed over, luckily there wasnt much going on as it was friday and i was early. so i got in on fridayy with no entry charge just a dissproving look from a builder of some sort. i first came accross Shrimp in all sorts of sizes and colours, awesome! being from New Zealand and NZ having a very apparent lack of tropical shrimp this was a whole new experience and was great to see so many colours etc i really liked some of the bigger crayfish which had some stunning colours. my favourite shrimp was the blue and black one, unfortunately a lot of them werent named so i couldn't tell you its name or species. my favourite c: my favourite shrimp then came a stall from a Betta Splendan community that imported and breed siamese fighters STUNNING yet another stall had high quality discus for sale the biotope section was sweet too! most of the L number cats were hiding though :cry1: because of the dim lighting it was hard to take decent pics, sorry bout that now my favourite! the aquascping contest first ill post the Nano section really liked this one the above water portion was really neat here a close up this was 2 entries oliver knotts entry was creative didnt take the special prize though this tank took 1st place, WOW now the xl catagory this one took 2nd or 3rd place, also my 2nd favourite i think this dutch scape was done by a 9 year old, i think his dad helped more than a bit though :rotf: my least favourite haha this one is nice but i dont like the little people on the "beach" not very classy IMO this one was done by the ADA germany team, planted on the day of judging still looks great again knott out did everyone on the cheese factor this iwagumi was my favourite, only took 6th place though this one took 1st, well done to a brilliant scape so yea theres more but tbh this took long enough feel free to have a sort through myy photobucket folder http://s1141.beta.photobucket.com/user/ ... 20aquarium
