  1. More than enough for 2 dwarf puffers Just make sure you get some blood worms for them, as they won't eat normal flake food (usually).
  2. wow woke up at like 4;30 am to the house shaking, and I'm all the way up in Nelson Hope all you people in Chch are ok
  3. Same colouring? How much you want? shipping to Nelson possible/price?
  4. Regular monster of the deep there

    Hey Sam!

    /groan
  6. wow that is one evil looking guppy... I want one.
  7. Read up on fin rot treatment and added salt to water. Hopefully it will help them, though I think any damage is already done. Was quite hard to see the white telltale signs of fin rot on them because well.. they are white fish, lol. When we got them they were fairly small, maybe an inch or a bit larger long/high? Had them for 2-3 months (I think), I can't remember if they always did it, just remember them being harassed by swords a bunch. Well we got them from a breeder who had bred a TON of them, so it could be a possibility Don't want do anything like culling them, just want to help their living conditions if possible/needed. The ones I have are in a well established 90L community tank, so I don't think it's a lack of good bacteria . Edit, just found this; I did see them struggling to stay mid-tank, I thought it was just because of missing parts of fins though
  8. Some fish will sit at the surface and gulp air if there isn't enough oxygen in the water, are the gills red? enough surface agitation in your water? Also, pregnant guppys stay near the surface of the water when they are close to giving birth (in my experience), usually around the filter power head or something similar, they also move a lot less. I don't know if it applies to you, just trying to help Pregnant guppy \/ http://www.liveaquaria.com/images/articles/a_pregnant_34806P_004.jpg
  9. Sounds like my glass cats, ha.
  10. Man if I had a tank that size I'd fill it with a ton of smaller fish for an epic community tank, instead of the huge swim back and forward tanks most people seem to have

    puffers

For dwarves you need 5 gal/puffer if alone, or 3 gal/puffer if more than one.. If you have more than one then try and keep more females than males, and keep them in a species only tank or else they'll shred the fins of their tank mates (don't try keeping them with other fish and wait to see if it happens, I tried that and now I have gourami with fin rot, fml) even if they are much, much larger than the dwarves.
  12. Thanks for the tip! Is there anything I can do to discourage them? Or do I need to just move them somewhere else? http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/8326/img0426y.jpg - Better quality http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/2171/img0431mt.jpg - The accused!
  13. Here's a pic showing the stem nearly shredded http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/5143/plantk.png sorry for horrible quality
  14. They are being eaten and uprooted, like I'll find 1 uprooted plant and a ton of bits of leaves floating in my tank. A lot of the time it looks like something has chewed through the bottom of the plant and the top half has just broken off to float around the tank I bury the plants as much as I can, but with the under gravel filter it's a bit hard to bury them really deep.
  15. Something in my tank is eating/uprooting my plants, but I never see which fish it is.. I'm guessing they do it at night In the tank I have; 3 Glass Cats 2 Albino Cory 2 Dwarf Gourami Anyone know who the guilty fish are?
  16. Managed to get a photo of angel lying on the ground. http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/7466/img0420gh.jpg
  17. As far as I know blood worms are enough, could be wrong though!
  18. Well there hasn't been any visible changes to the angels, the look the same as they did after they were nibbled on, they just didn't grow fins back. That's why I didn't think there was any infection. I wasn't able to see any behaviour changes because I had only had them a day or two before they were nibbled, I guess their "resting" now could be counted as strange behaviour though
  19. Yes on both How much should I add per litre?
  20. Normal colouring They aren't chased by any fish. some of them are missing some fins, but they manage to swim normally a lot of the time with no problem (apart from looking wacky).
  21. Tank is 90L Picture - http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/7246/003ozv.jpg Angels Resting (not lying on sides) - http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/8116/002fb.jpg http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/7274/0031n.jpg Clearest pic I could get of "stumpy" our worst off angel - http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/1335/004sll.jpg Caution: Large pics! Some of them are "whiteish" around where their fins aren't growing back, but it's subtle and not a very strong white (keep in mind angels are white ). Haven't seen the angels bite at each other at all, the only time they were eaten is when we had swords in the same tank as them.
