  1. Woah, it went from 1 unanswered question to 5 in less than 30mins!
  2. If possible, turn off the heater with eggs on it after adding a new heater. This should save the eggs. Congrats and good luck! :bounce:
  3. PS, TYVM. It just showed up so I started to type, with both hands! I had Guinea Pigs, not very good at looking after them. Mice are more fun and they play with you. Is a possum a rodent P44? That one you posted was KEEEYOOT! (Cute)
  4. Chinchillas, Guinea Pigs and in guess you could count Rabbits?
  5. I heard about a mouse that died from an OD of incorrect flea powder. I reckon you should give him a bath and get some proper flea powder. HTH
  6. Thats an awesome idea Zev. If all goes to plan, the office shall be mine. Already have three tanks on the shelf, just got wireless so noone needs to go in there anymore, might move my PC in there though :-? .
  7. I agree with the above statement. The water level in the tank isn't at its full potential, looks like a breakdown. I can imagine P44 running over there with some buckets and topping it right up

    HM PK X HM

I think that as soon as you introduce the PK to your line, the fines of the resulting fry will be stronger. If you breed those fry with another PK, those resulting fry will have even stronger fins but there will be more PKs. Correct me if I'm wrong?
  9. They could have held down the Shift key while they typed? Is the info in old times or new daylight saving times? I just woke up

    First Spawn

With all the mongrel VTs (no offense to VTs or their fans) out there the market is already filled with unknown lines. At the end of the day, it all comes down to what the breeder wants to do. If s/he wants to breed VTs then that's up to them, but it takes the same amount of time, money and effort to breed nice looking fish than to breed ugly ones. Raising 100 VT fry will be the same as raising 100 HM fry, except the latter is nicer to look at and sells for much more. I myself haven't bred fighters yet but the ones I plan to spawn (when I get rid of those cursed platies, PM me for free platies) will be from what looks to be good delta/super delta lines.

    First Spawn

I beg to differ. CTPK's are very beautiful fish, provided that they are bred right. On a side note, shouldn't fish with less than 33% crowning be called combtails? I see fish with very little reduction in ray webbings being called Crowntails. Is that correct?
  12. I think the parents were raised differently. I raised mine in groups of 10+ in a really bright barebottom aquarium with on wood and a couple of plant clumps. Maybe it just got used to being exposed? Moved between several tanks, all really bright light situations too.

  14. IDK if this helps but I have a pair of BN's and one of their offspring. The male acts all macho with his misus but whenever I approach the tank, he'll go dead still then bolt back to his wood. The female is a more confident but doesn't overly enjoy sudden movements. Their offspring, hoping it's a girl, doesn't mind people or movement at all. HTH
  15. Just measure the max temps it gets to on the hottest days, if it exceeds the temp of your coolest tank, you need to change something. The problem is usually having too little heat, not too much. At least you'll save power?
  16. If the lights are off, the room is quiet and there are no bully fish around, he may. Depends if he's a herbi, omni or carni vore
  17. Obviously it's heavily flawed
  18. I would try this in a tank devoid of fish, but wouldn't experiment with fish. IMO, there is no way to harm the plants by doing this but the fish would be my biggest concern. Perhaps when the plants get growing (maybe they have already?) you could try this? Keep us updated

    filter

Uhh, the filter should have been off from the start . Turn it off now and get yourself and air driven sponge filter. Turn the sponge filter on when the fry are free swimming, use a more powerful filter when the need arises.
  20. WC should be done from a fishless, plant rich tank or else you may aswell not do it. I mean you could try it, I just don't see the point.
  21. Nice! Can I have some details on what tubes you're running, any CO2 or ferts?
  22. You mean a fish room with single story tanks on their own stands or a room with rows of tanks on shelves?
  23. Sorry, just read the above more carefully  Guess I'll have to make an overflow box then :-?

    HM PK X HM

In the F2 of the above statement from Ashzbetta. They should have better fin spread than regular PKs.
