What else is in the tank? If possible, remove all other fish and turn off the filter, or cover the inlet pipe with wool or old stocking. More details?

Both were alive yesterday, haven't seen them today although that's normal. They're very hard to see. What kinda fry do they look like?

Yes, I like my little army of Glosso too. Hoping that it survives and rights its self. Half the leaves are buried but if I take them out, the plants will float :-? The more algae on those rocks, the duller they'll get, meaning better pics. Or I could wait for my Riccia to grow a bit more and tie some of that to the rocks. Not too keen on Java moss but if I have to, I will.

Here's how you do it: Dress the fish up in a suit and pretend that it's a mute person. Call a taxi and tell the driver to go to LA's place. When the taxi arrives, LA grabs the fish and runs! Its fool proof...

Started planting at around 3.30pm. Still got more than 2/3 of the glosso to do but I cut up the Rotala and put that in. Hairgrass in untouched so far. Glosso is really tricky to plant and I think I'm doing it all wrong. There seems to be runners that have little leaves at set intervals. I'm getting about 3 pairs of leaves on a runner, bunching it up and pushing it into the gravel. That sound right? Will load up some pics once done.

Plants just arrived, so does the bus in 12mins! Pushed down the hairgrass and glosso pots and put the rotala base in the gravel. Can't wait till I get home. Do I need to seperate the Glosso?

Don't mess with clay balls! Hit one the other day and all hell broke lose. Lucky the Betta was in a seperate container so I moved him, drained half the tank, replanted the hairgrass and replaced the Betta. 8) It'll be interesting to see how this tank looks when it fills in a bit.

Spreadedededededed! :lol: :lol: I read on many sites that trimming hairgrass encourages new growth and more runners. I just trimmed some to that height in my divided tank and it going well. I didn't trim it in tank (can't handle the mess) so I pulled it all out and trimmed it in an icecream container. The bunches were about 3-4cm long before planted but are only sticking out about 1 or 2 cm's. Hopefully we'll see some good spreadage.

Yes, I too bought a big pot of hairgrass and planted it bang smack in the middle of my tank. A month later I had one or two runners and a whole ot of brown blades. Split off a few bunches and they sent out runners within a week. Removed all the grass to my nano hairgrass tank and split it up into many mediumish bunches, they spreaded well. Hoping this will be even better.

Expecting plants tomorrow, so I mvoed the hairgrass to one side and trimmed it right down.

My Bol Rams (from Phil, TYVM) are very timid. One pushes the other away when it's feeding time but they both scat when I walk up to the tank suddenly. Maybe it's because I'm running 4 tubes over their tank :roll:

I am hell bent on proving that wrong! My first tank (this one) had a black background on it and I hated it. Now I have three blue, one white and one blue/grey background.
