Tinted glass or a light blocking lid of some sort could work too.

I'd grab a bunch of Riccia if you're going with floating plants. It always seems to be in demand and that way you're not "wasting" your HO lighting.

Used to have a Tom come inside but we got Skylla a collar with a magnet so only she could come inside. No strays since but she sometimes comes inside smelling like boy cat

On the 29th of September I'll be travelling (by car) from Auckland to Napier, and returning on the 1st of October. Does anyone need any fish transported either way? Probably can't take aquariums and big stuff, the car's only small. Items would need to be dropped off and collected from my house or the house we're staying in at Napier. Just PM me 8)

Wow, that's one tough fish! I once had my big male BN stay on the side of a container when I poured his wife in. I didn't notice for quite sometime, he survived though 8)

I'd split that grass into smaller bunches (3-5 blades) and distribute it further around the tank. It may take some time now, but it spread so much faster in the long run. Aside from that, let it fill in
