:cry1: Hi can anyone tell me if I put some guppies in the tropical tank where my gold fish is will it eat them??? I can put the gold fish in a big bowl until I rehome it I took it to save its life as the person who had it didnt want it Its been living int he tropical tank on its own for a while, Guppies arriving today will they be ok let me know please !!!!

Hi thank you mate !!! I will throw out what I have and buy some more this week I found some other bottom feeder stuff too but thats a few years old I had a big lot of it I will go back to buying small ones at least if you buy a few small containers you can open them when the other one is done and it will still be fresh aye and no the food was in freezer bags

How long does fish food last I was given a big bread bag full and put it in the freezer Omg i put it in containers I didnt realise one of them really stunk so I threw that out The other cointainer of it smells ok It was in the freezer for a year, it still looks fresh and when you crush it its ok Is it ok to use??? If not ill throw it all and get some new stuff Ideas plz :bggrn:

Hi yes mate thats on my list Mine must use about 30 bucks then coz my 3 tanks would equal yr one, not that bad when you consider the enjoyment you get out of it

what is RTV? sorry haha is that the sealent? I have seen so many ppl with tanks without the bracing parts on the top too !

Hi ya thank you for the info, I see i had this thread last yeah, and Powershop units were upto 29 cents this winter but that includes everything My powerbills have dropped since I joined them Lounge is always warm from fire so can discount that thank haha. rest of house use gas heater in hall way costly but keeps us warm I think you get too the point with your fish where you wonder if its worth it to have them

Hi guys how did you get on in the winter with your power bills with your fish tanks I am running 3 tanks, a 3 foot and a 2 foot and a half round tank, same as before Power was 160 in the winter with power shop and now about 120 and then 100 in the summer Would those tanks use the extra $60 in winter?? I dont think so aye as the hot water would use more, I used a dehmifier for a bit No electric heating gas and open fire. Your ideas and bill if you dont mind sharing I turned my tanks down to 25 is that ok

omg how often do tanks burst and why?? I had my 3 foot tank for 15 years and it had a turtle in it so was banged out alot and never broke ?

Thanks buddy the filter is good for the size of the tank and i personally think its too small for a external I am still running 3 tanks here I am thinking of getting rid of one or two I only have guppies at the moment and one gold fish and one albino cat fish the rest went to heaven

Hi thanks its working but it wont go around unless you touch it Obviously I burnt it out. My own fault for not keeping an eye on the water level Do tanks loose more water in winter or summer???? Will get a replacement one when I can, I have a spare filter going in there at the moment

Thanks I will do that i do remmber giving it the bash before, you can take that impeller out and put it back in that dont help its not broken I will give it a go and let you know after otherwise looks like it will be a new one

Hi guys I have an aqua one r620 power head I think the water went below it and i didnt see it in time :dno: It wont work now it goes when you plug it in and hums but it wont suck any water up I have taken the inproellor thing out and put it back no Avail This is for a top trickle filter Does anyone know if I can get a second hand one anywhere or better to get a new one and do you have to keep the water above it? as in the tank filled right up Its only a 90 litre tank so no use buying an external for that. The filter seems to be affective when it works any ideas thanks

Hi I have this in one tank its rampant, but ive usually always cleaned it off Stupid me didnt treat it when I should of Its started in my other tanks but is only minimual Will this help get rid of it API Algaefix One tank has it all over my plants do I have to throw them out??? or cut them back? I use to just trim the bad ones I can clean it off the filters etc I was gonna get a good sized bottle of that API and use that ideas please Thank you

Its on the list im getting one and a new filter for my other tank. Fish are fine but keep an eye on them !!!!!!

hi no but i had my water tested and it was ok but that was a while ago, i think ill put them in the tank that looks the best then slowly move a few here and there or :ske: :rolfl:

no not at all I have 2 empty tanks that are running one im not so sure abot and my breeding tank is half empty so there is plenty of room if you read up there what i put

Hi im getting 50 new guppies this week for my breeding 3 foot tank There is about 10 left in there and its running 2 filters One ehiem and a fluval, both internal one is great the fluval dont do much LOL Anyway is it ok to put them all in there I want to pick some later to put in my tank in the lounge 90 litre, and my 90 litre in my room is empty but the filters in there aint very good. Both small tanks need a good clean Ideas please

mine in the lounge is about 6 yrs old it has condensation in it, i was told thats not good either I wouldnt mind a spare just incase hehe
