  6. tamboe, its a good idea to put your location in your profile as people can assist you better, your in aus where?great barrier reef and you have access to more live stock, the guys here can point you to some good shops as well and as the guys will tell you, build a plan and have lots of patience and buy the best you can and that will be your reward, don't do it cheap as it will cost you more in the long term the guys will help you avoid the mistakes if you listen to what they say as they have good advice and have made the mistakes themselves
  7. booger try using it as a bio only with just the balls and no filter wool and use a air sponge filter in your tank sounds like you have a good amount of stock in your tank and your tank is prob a 200l 4ft and the 2212 is rated 100L up 200L you may want to top up the media

  15. would you put a patch on your windscreen ?????
  16. hey NPnewbie sounds like a very cool and safe tank the advantage of corner and L tanks they hold alot of water and look great too  10 mm glass is approx 360 a square metre so there's alot of glass there and being a triangle it would be very strong as triangles are the strongest shape in engineering, so how much is the tank costing from them if ya don't mind me asking

  20. in xp all you need to do is right click on pic and resize has custom option too
  21. i agree with interfecus but do not put another male with them as he will only eat them and take the female away also if you have not already, the eggs on the bottom will hatch with meth blue being used, you can give the eggs on the bottom a gentle stir to help them against fugus. good luck ps try not to disturb the nest
  22. hey dave nice looking set up and some great photos there good on ya 8)
  23. lol no they are different Plate Glass Used in the past to produce higher quality glass, this technology was completely outperformed by the float glass process Float Glass A term for perfectly flat, clear glass (basic product). The term "float" glass derives from the production method, introduced in the UK by Sir Alastair Pilkington in the late 1950's, by which 90% of today's flat glass is manufactured. ok here's the site for ya http://www.glassonweb.com so any way thats why i was wondering which you used to calculate as 8mm plate is very strong,i.e. no wobbles in it unlike float glass
  24. hey warren did you culculate as 8mm float glass or as 8mm plate as there is a big difference between the two types of glass not being picky just curious thats all
  25. if you run your braces correctlly you should not have any problems at all, ie run bracing 50mm strips around the inside top of tank and then your cross braces, three across at 500mm spacing should do it nicely,if your not sure, just go and look at some tanks in the shops and you will be able to see for your self how to do yours. hope this helps you out
