  1. oh and i forgot to say i would change the substrate to daltons sand as well.. mate, if you can commit to buying those plants I can speak to someone i know in the animates chch and see if i can get the plants sent there for you to collect. Pm me about the diffuser, i have plenty that just came in.
  2. ok.. so given your lights in the juwel (I'm assuming you have not changed them) this is what I would do. Rear Wall from Left to Right - Ludwigia repens, Hygro Difformis, Hygro Corymbosa stricta, Hygro Rosanvig, stargrass, Hygro Difformis. Then in front of that in different layers, layered in front of and in between Driftwood -Ludwigia arcuata with some other swords. Now swords are where it gets expensive. Try getting "Red Special" , Ozelot, "Rubra". Then in front of that get sag. microfolia or another such carpeting plant, and plant it right up front where the glass is all the way from left to right. experiment with cheaper plants like indian fern along the middle RHS of the tank as well. Then use DIY CO2 and buy a diffuser off me
  3. WOW!!!! World's luckiest Blue Tongue!
  4. are you open to the idea of changing the substrate? daltons sand is brilliant. its actually almost perfect. but yeap, more plants, more wood.
  5. hi, that was a long time ago. as i recall I traded them in for something that was freshwater.
  6. I get most of my plants from animates palmy. that may have something to do with the fact that I work there  but most stores should be able to get it; but it pays to speak to someone who knows what to look for.
  7. This is how it first was - Then this is how it matured, just before the "disaster" -
  8. you can order it in from a shop at about $20 a pot. That's how I got mine.

    Import

    cant forget the L46.
  10. the change in the position of the camera angles is a relative change. not absolute like the position of the rock. it should not make that big a difference. I still like the initial pics a LOT more. Just bear in mind' that while it is good to get a feel for what you want the tank to look like, it is not necessary for you to stick with the angle of the rocks. Once the plants go in and colours start matching / clashing you will probably change the position of the stones so its is visually appealing to you. Plants are not the most willing subjects, and tend to grow how they want to, and pruning them is not as easy as they say on the internet haha. thus my suggestion to plant the tank.
  11. surely you don't expect someone to set up a tank based on an entirely unrealistic viewing angle?
  12. aww thanks so much Jelz... to be perfectly honest I am not at all happy with the tank. its meh at the moment, but maybe in a couple of months itll be better.
  13. hi! and welcome to the federation. there is no escape now
  14. Dems are a brilliant fish. One day I will have at least 100 in a single tank.
  15. bigger, better, more power
  16. that was mean. first i looked at the pics. then the tank... then i rechecked.... and again to make sure. that was 10 minutes of my life
  17. if dems will struggle in that tank, peacocks definitely will. what about neon dwarf rainbows?
  18. but i am a vampire. the only side is the dark side

  22. would you believe that arcuata was only put in the tank 3 days ago? it was completely emersed.
  23. yes, i would love to breed them! but its not easy apparently, so who knows it would happen.
