  1. Hi and welcome! Although I did LOL at your choice of thread title!
  2. SG 1.008 will be sufficient for brackish. You would just do it very slowly. Try sag. subulata too.
  3. Awwww! that is so cute! even for a slimy fish!
  4. hahahha. its the same two. there is 1female and 1male, and then an extra male that tries to get it on with the female.
  5. Ill shove the whole lot in there.
  6. well.. They didn't lay on monday; but laid on tuesday. then they have gone and laid again last night. I'm confuzzled ahahha. Eggs are still here this morning, so that is a good sign, parents are looking after them well. dowue is visiting today so I have cleaned etc. hopefully the tank is looking semi decent
  7. you could prune it every 2 days....
  8. soda stream would have been better than paintball....
  9. yeah! that's exactly it! you summed it up in 2 lines and I would have taken up 10  Ill go look at some sand then shall I?
  10. I've had Eleocharis vivipara - it is available, but it won't grow like what's in that picture. It grows like hair grass - AKA it takes over everything and spreads runners uncontrollably.
  11. The only thing I do know about this tank is that I want dark gravel in it. I like daltons, but its far too light. Then again I could try It I suppose. The stuff I'm using now is brilliant for plants.
  12. have gravel. don't have sand  Ill get inspired when I get the glosso. till then nada inspiration.
  13. you can still have the surface still as ever... its basically letting the CO2 'swim' around in the water for longer. I don't want to copy any thing online Jen... I'll figure something out. Least I hope I do.
  14. can also leave it outside and do a rain dance.
  15. 600 LPH? Bubbles from the CO2 diffuser get sucked into the powerhead and then get slammed into the water even more. It works brilliantly. Im thinking of filtration options at the moment..
  16. well apparently the stones look ugly so I might have to re think them, but i wanted this tank to be different from all the other gumis. How can I achieve that?
  17. me too. but i have to wait till the glosso arrives. it was supposed to be here today
  18. I bought 25 I think as my first and only colony. Would love to get a massive colony in the future. They are agro towards each other, and I think I had 4 very dominant distinctive males in the tank that didn't normally venture into another males territory. You definitely need a LOT of hiding spots with these guys. Breeding them is dead easy too. just get a colony and let them go nuts. best not to buy tiny ones too, I bought all of mine at like 3-4cm and they grow relatively fast. that is the smallest size i would buy them at, but having said that you probably don't want to add large males into another colony either.

    discus id!

So 2 cobalts could produce an entire batch of turqs? Recessive genes will only show in a minority of the offspring, not a majority of them.
  20. That tank looks brilliant. I am dreaming of something similar (similar wide footprint). you can get sag. subulata to grow to about 60cm high in the right light. it does start off as a low plant though.
  21. Welcome. I see you found my old tank  jk It looks like a species of Val to me. possibly nana. not that it stays small or anything. it is banned.
