dwarf hairgrass if you can find it, grows to about an inch/25cm high i think or atleast mine never got any higher when i had it. or what about that native groundcover, you find it in some streams, i cant think of the name . .. . um. . . ?

Sand - ok but can be messy they still may eat some and sand can get gas build up, not so bad if gravel vacd or heavily planted Rocks- ok but really need to be bigger than will fit in there mouth which isnt small, and imo a tank full of large pebbles is gonna collect all the muck Sand under rocks would only make cleaning even harder and more chance of getting gas build up i would of thought. I just use bare bottom tanks, with a couple of rocks and oxygen weed added when in breeding season, seems to work for me!

I bred them for a while but the smell got to me in the end :-?, rats on the other hand not so bad but too much trouble for what its worth imo.

primo thanking you both Ive already had the laptop out there doing the crawk crawk crawk crok crok or however it goes the neighbours must think im mad :lol: I like the rain idea ill rig that up asap, so would you still have a small land area like 1/3 of tank dry for feeding or just some plants and driftwood/rocks for the frogs to perch on? other problem im finding is livefood like crickets and mealworm tricky to feed when mostly all water in the tank :-? - any tips on tht?

Any triggers for them to spawn etc? Is hibernating a must before so, can it be done indoors even? Does male need to be seperated from female/s etc? ANY info would be of great help

IMO alot of it has to do with the owner regardless of the breed, silly iresponsible owners = silly iresponsible unbalanced dogs!!
