  4. Hi all. I must say that I miss my Leopard Gecko's very much but I did pass them on to someone who will take very good care of them. Home is Auckland at the moment. Not planning on going anywhere for a long time!
  5. Hi everyone. Its Michelle from SA. I am finally here in New Zealand. I look forward to meeting you personally. When's the next meeting?
  6. Thanks for the info. Love all the pics!
  7. How much do newts sell for in NZ?
  8. Here are some of mine.... Sorry.....got a bit carried away!
  9. Love love love the python! That chap is so fortunate that he did not get tagged. Bet he'll make sure he knows what he's playing with next time
  10. Your older ones colours are very nice! Maybe the bigger one is eating the little ones food
  11. That is heartbreaking! I just dont understand why people can be so vicious.
  12. Oh what a cutie he is! They are such wonderful creatures. Enjoy!
  13. Hi Sally! Love your setup and fish. We can see that you love them!
  14. It is crazy! Our currency gets worse by the day. I have heard about them searching people after monitoring forums. I understand that they are very protective about there ecology and I respect that. Believe me when I say that I love my leo's but I am a law abiding citizen and I would never try and smuggle anything in. I would much rather save my money and try and buy a leo or two when I get there. I believe that a few of your indegenous reptiles are endangered. I would love to somehow get involved with nature conservation there and help as much as possible. The more people helping the better. I love all reptiles and if I cant have leo's there its sad but it's ok. I will be doing some research from my side to learn as much as I can about your species of gecko's and lizards. I have seen some pics and they are beautiful! I guess it makes sense to rather focus your passion and energy into trying to help a species flourish rather than breed an exotic species. Is anyone on this forum involved in nature conservation or working to help any of the endangered species?
  15. Thanks so much everyone. I look forward to getting to know all of you! Howzit Johannes! How long have you been in NZ?
  16. I must say that I feel very welcome already! Thanks for all the kind words. I will be doing a lot of reading to see what you all have and love. I do love my leo's and it will be terribly hard to say goodbye to them. They all have their own personalities. As far as snakes go, I am afraid that I dont keep any. I do love snakes but my family does not! I have not had any experience with African Fat Tail Gecko's but I believe that they are very similar to leopard gecko's when it comes to husbandry. Prices vary according to morph (colour) and age. Here in SA a normal will fetch about R300 (about 46 NZ $). The Albino hatchlings go for R600 (about 92 NZ$) and an adult albino goes for R1200 (about 184 NZ$). It seems crazy when you consider that they go for about 1500 NZ$ over there!!!!!!! To be honest, I would pay it as they are a very rewarding species to have. You are all most welcome to come and visit with your special pants!
  17. They are gorgeous....love those long tails!
  18. That's a very nice enclosure. Just make sure the cat does not eat the beardie! Love the skeleton hands!
  19. At least I will have my photos to look at! Seriously though, I will just have to make do with putting my energy into what you guys do have available. Ironically, the area in SA that I live in, I am not allowed to have bearded dragons! Will think about getting one or two of those once I have settled.

  21. Hi everyone and thank you for the warm welcome! Do you think it would be worth trying to get the permit to bring my Leo's with me or would I just be wasting my time? Here is a pic of the rope fish. The molly looks like it has whitespot but its the dirty glass, I promise! I'll post pics of my leo's in the reptiles section for you. Cheers
