  1. Add more plants anytime the sooner the better, but try and have a plan, they will grow Add fish slowly, if you already have algae and add fish, then the fish waste could equal an explosion in algae growth Mark

  5. I have used the auto feeders when working away from home and they worked well, only problem I had was condensation causing the food to clump up, ended up putting a bead of silcone around the joint to seal it, just leaving the outlet. always used a low dose of food, just enough to keep them going, just to make sure no left over food in tank. Mark

  15. If you cycle very slowly (ie little fish, big water volume) you may never see detectable amounts of ammonia, or build up may be slower which is good having had filter media in another tank for a week will have helped not feeding too much helps a lot (always my problem, they look sooo hungry)

  20. I am a Breakout Bat. I am an abstract sort of creature, who dislikes any sort of restraint. If you try to pigeonhole me, I'll break the box, and come back for more. I don't have any particular ambitions, I just drift, but I am adept at keeping life going along.
  21. Duke tanks seem to be a bit more expensive down this end of the country, try a glazier as Carul suggested, believe south canterbury glass?? think that the name they are on the terrace, are resonably priced and sometimes have secondhand 10mm glass in good condition.
